Basically completely cleaned out his house in Spanish Trails- got everything including WSOP bracelets, etc.

For those of you who haven't ever gotten 'the call' to inform you that your house has been broken into, it's one of the worst feelings in the world. Really hope they catch the SOB's, get Hoyts stuff back and they spend a chunk of their lives locked in a cage.

Some of the poker related items stolen (according to a representative) include Hoyt's two WSOP Bracelets, and nearly all of the memorabilia accumulated in a career that includes a World Poker Tour win, two WSOP bracelets, and many other wins.

Oh and PS to the poster above: insurance does nothing to rectify the feelings you have when your house is burglarized.

sounds like an inside job. said they took a safe and several vehicles. how does a stranger get into a gated community and remove such things unnoticed?

sucks for hoyt. played with him a good amount this summer and enjoyed having him at the table, as he was personable and friendly. here is to hoping the perpetrators get busted

Yea wow, definetly an inside job, how can someone go unsuspected in a community such as Spanish Trails and steal everything including his cars...I'm sure we will be hearing more on this shortly.

Sounds like the making of someone going broke!! Instead of selling it he figured he would get more from home insurance.. IMO

It is not easy getting into spanish trails unless you live there!! something smells fishy about this whole thing!

As far as getting into a gated community, from what I've read it can give a false sense of security.

If there's not a guard on the gate 24/7, cars will wait for a resident to open the gate and follow him in.

If there is a guard, often they're lax. Someone says they're the handyman and gives an address, and unfortunately a lot of times a guard will be lazy and let them in.

Seriously,
no professional criminal "cleans out" a house and takes their Fk'n cars! They go in and take the jewelry and safe and are out in less than 2 minutes.

This smells like a "bad debt" collection from some powerful mofo's. I'll bet no charges will ever be filed.

LOL @ rich people and their false sense of security gimmicks. I'm sure millions more have been spent on panic rooms, personal bodyguard robots, force fields, and bat caves...

but I'm not legitimizing thievery by scheming rednecks either. Hopefully the items get returned.
