Your opinion. I think it is pretty good, almost as good as FTP's.

Regardless, it is not worth it for PS to even invest $10M in software. It won't have a significant impact on their revenues.

^^ it may not but it will keep them from losing market share to other guys

Actually, that's irrelevant unless FTP comes back under any other non-PS ownership, because at this moment, FTP has exactly 0% market share, and isn't about to take any away from anyone.

I don't have access to Pacer, anyone that does, has anything been filed in this regard?
justia.com is following the civil case and usually have the docket entries up within a few days of them being filed http://dockets.justia.com/docket/new...1:2011cv02564/

Not sure if there's anywhere publicly available for free we can access the filings in the criminal cases

I hadn't been playing at Full Tilt for awhile because my luck had seemed much better everywhere else. I only left a small amount in my account so wasn't really hurt when DOJ shut it down.

I do remember a casino exec telling me that almost all the big time players wound up dying with a lot of markers outstanding. Am I the only one who has had the thought that Ferguson and Lederer were just a couple of compulsive gamblers who got lucky and acquired undeserved reputations? I mean stealing $44 and $25 million from players' accounts appears to the actions of men who were major losers at the table.

Pokerstars made arrangements to immediately return funds and appear to have properly segregated player's funds into separate bank accounts. PS seems to have billions of dollars with which to fight the DOJ in court and still stay in business overseas. The rake being collected vs. the minimal costs of running the sites makes this an enormously profitable business. So, why did the Lederer, Ferguson et al need to rip us off if they were such great players?

I think the biggest obstacle in the way of ftp right now is the shift in the online poker industry.

If poker stars were to buy FTP they have to worry about an increasingly segregated player pool.

Combine that with uncertain regulations not only in the USA but world wide and **** can get expensive and less profitable quickly.

PS has to forecast for so much uncertainty as is ... Throw in ftp and it might hurt profits...it might hurt their ability to meet company objectives. This massive decision is eating a lot of resources.

It seems there are a lot more Qs then As when it comes to our money, our favorite game, our job and our freedom

Husker,

May I suggest that you buyin to the highest limit you can and try to either run it up to a million or bust.

I can't wait to get my money back. It's going to be awesome!

I don't think they wanted to. They probably calculated the most losses they could ever have in a week. Multiplies that by 5, and figured they did not need to cover all the accounts Since there was profit in Europe too, if the feds shut down FTP in America. Their risk of going bust was zero. However the DOJ shut down America, stole their money, and the Alderney pulled their license. However, I don't know why they didn't just move to Antigua?

Massive failures:
  • Their license required them to be able to cover all accounts at all times.
  • There was revenue, but very little profit.
  • LOL, they are BUST.
  • If DOJ actions were not lawful, why didn't FTP fight them in court?

Bottom line: they weren't satisfied with the small profit they were making, so they embarked on a plan to steal every single penny they could get their hands on.

BF has nothing to do with FTP going broke. They were already over $200M in debt, and only had $60M left. After six more months of $10M dividend payments despite having no profits, they were going under anyway.

Good riddance to the stinking thieves.

For the gajillionth time, don't use this thread to attempt to buy or sell FTP funds, or to attempt to solicit offers to buy/sell FTP funds.

black_friday, knock it the **** off.

I did clarify the buying/selling of FTP funds a few weeks ago, since I was asked why, if it was 2p2s policy not to allow such transactions, they were allowed in the HS trading thread.

Ultimately, what it boils down to is that 2p2s policy is to allow buying/selling of poker site funds in only two threads (the HS trading thread and the IP trading thread), and the moderators of those threads call the shots. Trading funds from ANY site outside of those threads is not allowed on 2p2.

In the case of FTP funds, the rulers of IP decided not to allow trading in their thread, quite likely because of the high likelihood of problems/scams if/when FTP ever re-emerges. The HS mods decided to allow it, presumably because that is a much smaller and tighter knit community.

This means that, for all intents and purposes, trading of FTP funds is not allowed on 2p2 unless you are a HS regular. Sucks for everyone else, I guess, but that's the way it is.

So stop asking about it in here.

I actully preferred FTPs presentation over PS, but for every big FTP fan like you there is a PS fan singing its praises just as much. No harm done having an opinion, but it seems mostly irrevelant opinion due to the present situation

the responce was because someone said they were "almost" as good so why bother trying to get better !

had nothing to do with singing praises although i personally believe FT is better. It had more to do with why bother to try and get better if your "almost" as good.

I am sure you got a lot of clients saying you were "almost" as good as the other guy !
