Bumping my own post:

The 218 players consist of:

27 Five-Year cards, 55 Three-Year cards, and 136 Two-Year-cards (36 2-Year "A" Players and 100 2-Year "B" Players)

I've noticed some interesting, did-not-expect-those, names and I mean this in a very positive way

I like the qualification criteria (except that it excludes online, obv). There's no mention of the lifetime achievement players. I know that they were mentioned before, but all the names seem to list their qualification status (ie. Doyle - 2B, Daniel - 5, etc). How did Patrick make it based on these criteria? 6 cashes for $300K + 1 title since 2008? Where?

Is that roster a list of people who are confirmed to play, or just who they are inviting? If it's the former, looks like it could be pretty cool.

Thanks. Still don't see a "major title" here.

It doesn't seem like the title needs to be since 2008, just at any point in time.

Edit: so maybe the EPT Baden counts

I was extremely skeptical based on the tone of the initial press releases but it seems like they actually did a good job with the selection criteria.

The roster lists those who are eligible to play, i.e., permitted to enter each event by buying-in for $20,000.

I'm curious as to the difference in player privileges or benefits between the 2 Year A and 2 Year B cards. I've emailed Federated with an inquiry.

I saw that. But it also says:

"Any tournament with a buy-in of $10,000 US or higher and a field of 100 or more and took place in the year 2001 or after..."

4,000 euro < $10,000 US, no?

Maybe Kevmath can get to the bottom of this one.

All EPT main event wins count as major titles. (I assume by "main event" they mean the televised event at every stop, not just the season championship.)

Andy Frankenberger isn't on the list. He seems to be like $3K short in lifetime earnings. I assume he'll get there since they said they're leaving qualification open for a while longer. I think he definitely deserves to be there given that he's only been doing this a short while and has put up amazing results, including being the leader for WPT Player of the Year going into the WPT Championship.

Or it can be an EPT Main Event, amongst other major tours. Given that the buyin for Baden was the same as for Barcelona, which is explicitly called a main event on Hendon mob, I assumed Baden was also a main event - although it doesn't say main event on it. Seems like the only tourney he's won that would be even close enough to qualify, though.

As a side note - wow Scandinavia did well in Baden lol.

How is this going to be different then the short lived professional poker league aside from slightly larger prize pools, it seems like 80% these guys maybe more are unreconizable outside the poker world. I really dont see this being a success

Almost makes me wish I had grinded more live in 2009 and 2010 (and played/ran a lot better when I did).

D'oh! I think there are no differences in privileges or benefits; they are just two different sets of qualification criteria for 2 Year Cards, with tradeoffs between lifetime and recent success.

Really dumb that 1ks don't count toward this. They at least should add the WSOP 1ks.
