Yup. Doesn't matter how good we are or how good we think we are, things can go v wrong or v good for long periods in this game. Months and months at a time...

Interesting that Doug would admit to not wanting to play deep vs Sauce.
Seems hard to make a case for being the best player in the world when you refuse to play deep, imo...

And b4 people start eating their tampons, I'm only mentioning this because WCG has made it very clear where he believes he stands in the HUNL hierarchy.

well, to be fair, he only wants to break stacks after 250bb which is still plenty deep

instead of playing HU, both should invest some money in hookers, like 2 each. Then they will let them wrestle in a mud fight ... or just let them just touch and kiss each other.

the whole thing will be obv streamed and nvgtards will vote, which team has won. So Sauce and Rider can still have a big sidebet on the line ...
Or they could just do a last longer bet with the hookers. My money is on WCGRider judging by the girl in that pic.

the live heads up matches I play at the end of a sitngo's or 20-30 player donkament tournament usually last 5-25 hands due to the fast blind structure. It makes me want to lol that if somebody wins one or two heads up battles that last maybe 50 hands total they think they are the worlds best heads up player. I wouldn't even try to tell them how even if they played 15K hands they still wouldn't know how good they are.

they should forget this HUNL nonsense and make a 100K bet on whos the better lover.
they each pick 3 high class escorts.
they each bone 1/week and after 3 weeks the girls vote on who was the better lay.

now theres a challenge. wonder what the line on that action would be.

OK tbh I just pulled a sd number out of my ass, I play only 6max myself. But even given a sd of 135, a 1 bb/100 favourite will win 53.6% of the time. Which is pretty much the exact odds of QQ vs AKs all in pre. Which is a "coinflip", but I know which one I would pick.

Re; the interview: it's a bit naive of Polk to mark Sauce down as a strictly GTO type player who makes little effort at adjusting to opponents. While GTO & overall balance are the cornerstone of his approach, he is still for sure adjusting depending on who he plays.

The common held belief has always been to hammer at your opponents leaks. Better recent players are more subtle at this but to hammer at leaks is the mainstay belief system of most players when trying to exploit. The problem with this is that a good player will quickly adjust and secondly by hammering in one area we then leave ourselves more open in other areas. The key is to be subtle and target leaks enough to exploit them while also allowing your opponent to keep with the same leaks. Sauce is obviously v good at this. Just because Polk doesn't think Sauce has been trying to exploit his specific style in conjunction with the GTO approach doesn't mean that he hasn't. Polk just hasn't noticed it yet.

Sauce is a bot programmed by David Sklansky and WCGRider is Bill Chen's bot. Both play very close to what could be called a game theoretically optimal poker strategy.

Seems like nobody wants to set a definite line. (and rightly so, its a difficult match to predict).

Just saying, it is starting soon so a line needs to be set if people want action.

It seems like they are likely to finish it reletively fast, which will be good.

It seems like a lot of people want action on WCG at +100. If there were a sportsbook booking action on this match, the line would be moving from WCG +100 to WCG -110 or WCG -120 as the money poured in. Basically just keep moving the line until both sides are willing to book action. -120 equates to a 54.55% probability of winning. Maybe we can start there?

Sick line moves. I got a lot of action on sauce at EV w/ diff people when line was Sauce -120. Outside of WCGs close friend I haven't spoken to any1 who wants WCG.

WCGRider honestly think he plays close to perfect 100-250 bb HUNL. Crazy thing is I believe him from what i've seen. (minus that 25/50 match with jungle)

Edit: Not that I'm qualified to say whats perfect and whats not, but he looks damn though from what I've seen.
