Why do people keep posting their conversations with support? Every post is the same. I dont think im getting my money from UB/AP then they post a generic conversation with support. What is that proving? That support doesnt know anything yret? Shocking....

If I had over 5k on the site, I would probably take a "vacation" to Costa Rica. Nice country, maybe get a special dispensation from Paul Leggett, prostitution is legal, itsaulgood.

The more I think about it the more I think AP/UB really is considering the ramifications for its business if it leaves the US vs. fighting this in court. Not taking their side, but it's clearly not an easy decision. FT and PS probably just wimped out and said it wasn't worth the hassle as long as they had a good non US business.

I suspect "all" the money is there and will be fine, but if they choose to fight it could be impossible for US players to access their money until this is all settled in court. That could be years.

I still think foreign players that are worried are being paranoid. It's probably 99% you all get paid soon and/or can continue to play.

Depends on where you mean when you say "there". 76 accounts were frozen from a variety of sources and not just payment processors. I believe the DoJ is inviting the sites to pay customers knowing it has all their monies. Stars is fine because they have a ton of continuing overseas business. Tilt will be fine over a slightly longer period because they have decent overseas business.

I mean no one from AP/UB has or is planning to purposefully take the money and screw US players.

They are trying to decide whether to fight or follow the same path as PS and FT.

I think noone can know it for sure without sitting on Blanca board. However, the fact that they are paying some people is a good sign. If they just decided to steal as much as they can and disappear there is no point in paying anyone.

true, good sign for sure. but it also buys them time to still consider all 3 options. stay and fight. stay and give in. leave and take all da monies.

this is a response to a prior payout inquiry, US player.

agreed. quite a few getting paid. slowing it down they may think helps them. even if they are paying everyone. will help some rake coming in. Degens canceling cashouts and grinding keeps the cash coming in.

I found a picture of what I imagine the Blanca board to look like.

Pretty sure the inclusions of Scott Tom and Brent Beckley in the indictments provide adequate cover the "sale" to Blanca was not quite legitimate.

The indictments' descriptions of Tom and Beckley was different than the descriptions of Scheinberg and Bitar. The indictment only claims that Tom and Beckley were involved for some part of the time during which the violations occurred.

For me, what raises suspicions that the Blanca sale was a cover is that nobody from Blanca is charged, even though there are claims of violations since Blanca allegedly took over. This could be, however, only because the Feds don't have any documents with the new guys' name on it linking him to knoweldge of the alleged violations.

Oh lord.... I received an e-mail from AP and was excited because I thought it was a statement of some sort. But no... turns out they decided because of my excellent deposit history to raise my e-check deposit limit.

I don't KNOW it, but IMHO the level of paranoia around here is kind of astonishing at this point. I think the risk of foreign players losing any money is about equal to the chances of them losing money before this all happened, but people are clearly panicked about getting their money and assuming the worst.

US players are clearly at much greater risk, but it's not like this is some easy business decision that can or should be contemplated by AP/UB in just a few hours. They are discussing something that will determine the survival of the business and bucking the power of the US government.

Exactly. It has been 4 business days. People should try to relax.
04-21-2011 , 04:44 PM
Its been a week now, there are no "business days" imo when something like this is going on, they should be working around the clock to get their customers an answer. This is ridiculous that they can't even assure us our funds are safe.
04-21-2011 , 04:46 PM
Well you can't convince the banks to open on the weekend. So yeah, there's still "business days". The DOJ knew exactly what they were doing, pulling this on a Friday. Induce the maximum amount of panic.

i think its very fair to consider 3 options at this point without being labeled paranoid. but yeah always a few of every kind in big threads like this.

great point

One thing is for sure, the longer that UB goes without making a statement, the more they are feeding the paranoia.

And Sebok may have no idea what's going on, but he is looking worse and worse each day that he says a statement is coming, and we hear nothing.

Your point about the banks is true, but the DOJ released the statement late on Friday afternoon to diminish the amount of mainstream media coverage. The average person pays less attention to the news on the weekends because they are spending time with there families. The panic from the poker community would come no matter when the news got released.
