Can we discuss Cereus specifically? Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

At least now we know our money is DOA.

Great firm. I met one of the partners a few years back.

Am I the only one concerned that Geraldine Ferraro is a Principal of Black Rone?

Doesn't really matter, what matters is that all the statements from both sides suggest the DoJ got the account(s) which held player funds and Cereus is trying to figure out how to get the money back. The DoJ said they haven't confiscated "individual player accounts" but that doesn't mean player pools aren't held in one or more of the 76 frozen accounts in the Civil Complaint.

They should call the DoJ on it and tell players the money is in NY. A player backlash against the government holding funds would probably stir the pot quite a bit.

I agree, Geraldine Ferraro is dead.

Blank Rome is as far as I know a good law firm and I hope they defend the case in court and win it.

By the way I doesn't look like Congress is going to do anything for online poker. To me the best hope is for a judge to invalidate the UIGEA. It is impermissably vague. An anti-gambling law that doesn't even define what illegal gambling is.

It sure would be ironic if AP turns out to be the ones who fight for and save online poker. I hope they and Blank Rome give it a shot.

Well just because they've retained counsel doesn't mean they are going to fight this in court. They're probably discussing all options at this point.

FT/PS are basically freerolling here if AP is the one who ends up putting up the biggest fight (and they have to imo, their international numbers aren't very good)

Has any non-US player successfully cashed out of AP/UB?

I get one story from General Support and another completely different from Payouts. General Support says non-US accounts aren't affected in any way, and then when they transfer me I get the canned line 'We have retained US counsel, we will have a update in a few days.'

What the hell is going on?
04-21-2011 , 07:18 PM
People in the international cashout thread are getting paid, yes.

Barb did you get through to them yet? Or are they giving you the runaround too?

All this talk of UK players recieving moneybookers withdrawls is making me wonder if I should cancel my withdrawl and try via moneybookers. But this is probably justa bad idea and going to slow things down, like people on the motorway constantly changing lanes and taking shortcuts, who knows

I have heard so much bull**** from them, I think all we can do is wait. I am fairly sure the people we are talking to are as uniformed as we are. As much fun as it is to pester them as I have been doing, I feel this is just a waste of my time, and may just now play the waiting game.

I think if you cancel your request now and put a new one in, you'll probably move to the end of the queue so it will only take longer.

Since I already received some money from AP today, I am actually tempted to cancel my second (full bankroll) withdrawal request but for a different reason - I want to be able to play there while everyone treats their chips as play money

Exactly. If FT/PS had live support, they would be just as worthless.

To be fair on them they weren't that useless pre-Black Friday.

I remember the first time trying to cash out from Cashier and not being able to do so because I never actually deposited any real money on the site - I then turned to Live Help and they instantly were like "yeah, no problem we'll do a manual cashout request for you and whenever you want to cash out next time just ask us again. How would you like to cash out?".

I was pretty impressed.

Last week, of course, has been terrible.

Yes that's what I meant. Support has always been amazing for me up until this point. Any site that had live support would be just as bad since friday.

This is what I was thinking when Fulltilt released there statement about the agreement with the DOJ. Just tell everybody, hey we want to pay you, but your government took your money and won't let us.

why hasn't UB/AP gotten their domain names back yet?
04-21-2011 , 08:24 PM
Because they haven't agreed to pull out of the US market.
04-21-2011 , 08:27 PM
