Will never hold up, this has to be a stand alone bill and the DNC will probably have to drop it to get the tax deal passed.

I mean how are you NOT able to force yourself to expect the worst? Haven't you gotten emotionally drained at this point yet from all other previous "good news"? I guess we'll just see what happens by end of the month.

No it doesn't... don't you remember how the UIGEA even started?

Like the last paragraph talking about Reid saying he will introduce his own bill if negotiations fail, but LOL to the Temporary Payroll Tax bill. Something tells me Congress has no issue putting this on the back burner for another 6 months or year by passing the temporary bill. It's just never going to happen any time soon.
And, if Reid and Kyl have indeed completed an ipoker-UIGEAII bill, they could attach it to a must-pass Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Extension bill.

You see, a +EV professional iPoker-regulation-sweater never gets emotional with any sort of news. Now please go and do the daily action plan.

If that's true why wasn't this done in December? Reid and Kyl had received word of the new DOJ intrastate ruling back in September anyways right?

Here is a blurb I got yesterday in my daily tax update e-mail (CPA) talking about the payroll extenders.

-----------------------------

No progress in conferees' efforts to extend payroll tax cut

With the temporary reduction in payroll taxes scheduled to expire on February 29, conferees for H.R. 3630, the “Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011,” met on Feb. 7 to discuss offsets for a bill extending the payroll tax cut. After four hours of discussions it was clear that Republican and Democratic conferees were no where close to reaching an agreement on offsets. Democrats conferees have rejected Republican conferees' proposal to pay for the cost of the bill with a pay freeze on Federal employees, an increase in high-income individuals' Medicare premiums, and a clawback of health care subsidies overpayments. Republican conferees have rejected Democratic conferees' proposal for a millionaires surtax.
Dave Camp (R-MI), Chair of the conference, reportedly said that conferees may have to consider new options to pay for the bill, telling conferees that if they couldn't agree on how to pay for the legislation they would have three choices—go outside the scope of the conference to find other offsets, reduce the size of the bill, or not offset the bill at all, which he said the President was not in favor of doing.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is reported to have said that conferees need to reach an agreement by next Monday or Tuesday, “otherwise we'll have to come to the floor with something.”

Governor Sandoval's spokesperson shot down the claims made by Global Gambing Biz:

Much different than this. The tax cut deal has to be passed by the 28th. Not enough time and the hill will want this as a stand alone bill so it can be debated properly and not rammed through while congress is fighting the tax cuts and won't be able to see the specifics of the gaming legislation.

They don't call him Dingy Harry for nothing.

Crazy how I never liked poker stars, put almost all my volume on tilt and now I'm cheering for stars success. Oh to be young and naive.

For what it's worth I'm doubting online poker will ever be as good as it once was. Too many grubby hands grabbing for the gold.
