I might be in a weird mood but the fact that he always brings ratings into it is like, somehow the perfect Trumpian coda.

I live in the suburbs and have a diverse group of friends on both sides of the isle. The telling thing I've seen is that my suburban Republican friends during every conversation are jumpy as crap and always on the lookout to quickly change the topic when Trump comes up. Conversations about protests, no problem. Conversations about police, no problem. Conversations about covid-19, no problem. The only problem is Trump. Trump is an embarrassment. It is clear my Republican suburban friends are embarrassed by his views and behavior, and they seem to have buyer's remorse for voting for him in the first place. Will that translate into them not voting at all or instead not voting for Trump but voting Republican on the down ballot and therefore the Republicans still controlling the Senate. It will be interesting to see and define Trump's legacy. Arizona, for example, is now a swing state in part because of white suburbanites moving away from Trump.

Shootings are skyrocketing across the US. Trump is offering Federal assistance thank goodness. These Dem cities are totally out of control. He has done excellent work so far in 2 days in calming Portland riots down. ANTIFA don't dare get close to the Justice Center. Trump 2020!!

lol. I'm old enough to remember Trump's inauguration and nomination: "American carnage" and "I alone can fix it". Four years later and his dumbass supporters are like "AMERICAN CARNAGE and oh yeah Trump alone can fix it but we just need to elect him to a second term first"

I feel like picking fights with NASCAR as a Republican is maybe a sign that your reelection campaign is not going all that great

It seems to always tick back upward during R years. Must've been Soros back during the Nixon Reagan and Bush years.

Do you have a source for this or are we just talking about your feelings?

I 100% think he has never looked at the Presidency as anything different than a reality tv show.

In the end the ONLY thing that matters to him is the ratings. Whether you are a hero or a villain is irreverent. Does it get ratings, does it sell. If not your show gets cancelled or your presidency ends.

He was obsessed with ratings of the Apprentice even when Arnold Schwarzenegger was the host. He was non stop comparing his ratings and that is why as Covid deaths spiked and his Covid Conferences would get higher ratings, he would brag about that.

People were tuning it because of the record deaths, but Trump say it as a boon due to higher ratings.

And more indicative is the usual Trump sheep in the GOP are fighting back against Donald.

They are putting space between what is a Trump position and what is the GOP position as Trump continues to plummet in the polls with no sign of recovery.

Lindsey Graham Rebukes Trump’s NASCAR Attack: ‘I Don’t Think Bubba Wallace Has Anything to Apologize For’

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) objected to President Donald Trump’s decision to lash out at Bubba Wallace and NASCAR’s Confederate flag ban.

Graham spoke to Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Monday during his radio show, where he sided with the racing organization’s decision to bar the Confederate flag from their events.

“They’re trying to grow the sport,” the senator said. “If you’re in business, the Confederate flag is not a good way to grow your business.”

Graham went to say it “made perfect sense to me” that Wallace would be outraged after NASCAR announced the discovery of a noose in his garage. This led to Kilmeade bringing up Trump’s tweet in which the president called the noose controversy a “hoax,” demanded Wallace apologize, and claimed NASCAR’s viewership tanked because of the incident and the flag ban.

“I don’t think Bubba Wallace has anything to apologize for,” Graham said in response to the tweet. “You saw the best in NASCAR. When there was a chance that it was a threat against Bubba Wallace, [the drivers] all rallied to Bubba’s side. I would be looking to celebrate that kind of attitude more than being worried about it being a hoax.”

And not just with NASCAR but also in education: as some Ivy League schools talked about plans to move instruction online, Trump tweeted that schools must be open in the fall.

Then ICE came out saying that international students here on an educational visa will be deported (!!) if their school moves to online instruction.

Thus in one swift move, Trump is trying to (A) harm minorities/"immigrants", (B) hurt public education, and (C) ignore COVID and force schools to meet in-person.

The gloves have come off and Trump is just going all-in on hatred and sowing division in an attempt to incite his base to support him this November. It's going to be a long 4 months.

Oh, and of course, neither you nor Trump could possibly explain what on earth Bubba Wallace did that you think he should apologize for.

Don't worry folks, as long as you get Trump out of office, racism will cease to exist:

Quote:
Since the United Nations-backed and NATO-led overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011, Libya has been plagued by disorder and migrants with little cash and no papers have become vulnerable. Libya is a major exit point for African migrants heading to Europe. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) published a report in April 2017 showing that many of the migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa heading to Europe are sold as slaves after being detained by people smugglers or militia groups. African countries south of Libya were targeted for slave trading and transferred to Libyan slave markets instead. According to the victims, the price is higher for migrants with skills like painting and tiling.[13][14] Slaves are often ransomed to their families and in the meantime until ransom can be paid tortured, forced to work, sometimes to death and eventually executed or left to starve if they can't pay for too long. Women are often raped and used as sex slaves and sold to brothels and private Libyan clients.[13][14][15][16] Many child migrants also suffer from abuse and child rape in Libya.[17][18]

After receiving unverified CNN video of a November 2017 slave auction in Libya, a human trafficker told Al-Jazeera (a Qatari TV station with interests in Libya) that hundreds of migrants are bought and sold across the country every week.[19] Migrants who have gone through Libyan detention centres have shown signs of many human rights abuses such as severe abuse, including electric shocks, burns, lashes and even skinning, stated the director of health services on the Italian island of Lampedusa to Euronews.[20]

... Nigerian migrants in January 2018 gave accounts of abuses in detention centres, including being leased or sold as slaves.[22] Videos of Sudanese migrants being burnt and whipped for ransom, were released later on by their families on social media.[23] In June 2018, the United Nations applied sanctions against four Libyans (including a Coast Guard commander) and two Eritreans for their criminal leadership of slave trade networks.[24]

...Former Nigerian aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode published images on Twitter claiming that slaves were having their organs harvested and some of their bodies are burnt. He also quoted a report claiming that 75% of the slaves are from southern Nigeria. It was unclear however whether his images were authentic.[36]

A Ghanaian lawyer, Bobby Banson, also claimed that the organs parts of the migrants were being harvested and they were not being sold for work. He requested African Union to set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the slave trade.[37]

In 2017, the progressive media watchdog organization FAIR accused the mainstream media in the United States and Great Britain of whitewashing the role NATO and the United States played in the resurgence of open slave markets in Libya, following the NATO-led ousting Muammar Qadhafi in 2011.[38]

I mean, Libya was Trump's fault somehow... right? At least we can trust our media to be "fair and balanced."

Is this the 'if Trump isn't responsible for everything then he is responsible for nothing' argument???

Everyone knows the best pull down tie for an overhead door is a noose.

Trump was extra racist today. He managed to attack a black guy, slur Hispanic immigrants and belittle native Americans.

Really living right to still be carrying water for Trump like some here are.
