Genuinely thought that was a joke when I seen it on twitter earlier. He's actually going on I'm a Celebrity?

Even for Matt Hancock that's scraping the bottom of the barrel. Super desperate.

Typical. Gross incompetence bordering on criminal negligence were fine.

This is the best year to be on I'm a Celebrity if your name isn't Matt Hancock as I suspect the public might vote for him to eat mashed pig's bollock on a nightly basis.

I might actually spend money and vote on that nonsense if we can get him being put in a dark pit with snakes, spiders and clowns.

I'm sure his constituents will be thrilled that while they are struggling to find enough money to keep the electricity switched on, he will be halfway around the world sunning himself while earning 6-figures for 3 weeks work

He apparently thought he could get the kind of career boost that Ed Balls got from going on Strictly (for what little that's worth), overlooking the fact that he doesn't have that sort of engaging personality and that his public profile is not positive and if the viewers put up with him at all they'll just order him to eat dingos' prostates every week.

Although I would put in a word for kangaroo steak, which is really not bad. It's quite like ostrich, oddly.

Quote:
Andrew Leak said he planned to “obliterate Muslim children” an hour before his firebomb attack in Dover, it has been revealed, amid continuing questions about why it took police so long to treat the incident as terrorism.

In his final tweet before the attack, Leak, 66, said: “We will obliterate them Muslim children [they] are now our target. And there [sic] disgusting women will be targeted mothers and sisters Is burn alive”.

Following a brief period in the summer of 2021 when small majorities preferred to stay out of the EU, support for rejoining has grown steadily, with the latest polls showing a majority of 57 to 43 per cent for reversing Brexit.

“If you look at YouGov’s question ‘In hindsight do you think Brexit was the right or wrong decision?’ they’ve increasingly been getting more people saying it was the wrong decision,” he said.

His comments raise the prospect of continuing division in the UK over Europe, with the possibility that the issue will come to dominate future elections or even spark another referendum.

It's a long way off but you wouldn't need a referendum to join the CU , then the SM.

Worth remembering with the rejoining the EU debate - it's not a given (in fact it's extremely ****ing unlikely) that the EU will give us the same terms that we were on when we left, let alone the extra bits that Cameron negotiated. I suspect that if we had to make a commitment to join the Euro, public perception would nosedive.

I welcome such a move in the future, as long as the public are clearly informed of the terms of rejoining, and there is a referendum on the decision.

I think the main concern of the EU if we attempted to rejoin is that we're not going to immediately start credibly threatening to leave again.

The size of the rejoin vote in another referendum could matter. I can see the EU being very wary if it's a win that is basically a draw.

Imagine the screaming from the far right if it had needed a much larger majority to leave than it took to join in the first place.

On the other hand it could be a good opportunity to require a larger majority in this (and so in all furture referenda) to rejoin
