Very nice Poker Stars. Better late then never. Was silly to think the current setup was a good idea to start with when announce last year and even sillier to let the games suck like that for so long when other sites made better changes and their games became so much better. You can't change the past though so the most you could do was bite the bullet and make the proper changes, and you did it, kudos.

Regular old no limit holdem is back at Stars. It's all about the labeling. If people want some perverted form of the game now it will at least have the proper labels on those games.

Can't shortstackers just sit at Cap tables and go all in with their $10 (NL50)? How is this different for them?

God bless us, EVERYONE.

First off, thanks, Stars. Better late than never. With all the bad legislative news, it's nice to see that not only a GOOD change was made, but the right change was made.

Ratholers, you don't have a LEG to stand on. You've been playing with 20bb's, folding/shoving one 0 or 1 street, and running away like a scared little girl. You've been leeching off NLHE's popularity playing a different game. Now, Stars is GIVING you the game you were born to play: CAP. You don't have to play with more than 20bb's and you don't have to leave the table now. You can sit at the same table and the thought of playing with 40bb's or Heaven forbid 100bb's can just leave your worried little mind.

Everyone else: get ready for the PREMIERE NLHE playing experience. Having annoying ratholers ruin the game is finally over. This is good for fish, full stackers, pros, semi-pros, and even REAL shortstackers (remember 40bb's is STILL short ... don't forget that ... if you don't like 40bb's it's because you angle shoot). These tables are what we've dreamed of for YEARS and they are finally here.

If fish go to the CAP tables, they really wanted to play CAP and there's not much fullstackers can say about it. Now, at least, fish can make an informed choice.

Sooo happy about this change and I will am definitely planning to play exclusively on Stars again!

Don't fret! There are cap games now to take their place. So now you don't even have to jump tables constantly to avoid risking a big stack. And since there is no inherent edge in shortstacker strategy as most SSers claim in these threads it won't make a bit if the games are capped.

I still don't get the point of restricting buy ins at cap games. Not does it matters...

I'm a full stacking player and rallied for the end of the short stack situation for years because it was getting disgusting. When Stars announced their changes I posted immediately in that thread the changes were no good and wouldn't solve the problem and was adamant about it. Shortstackers made fun of the fact that fullstackers were crybabies and never happy because it still wasn't good enough for most of us. And we were right.

The point I'm getting at is these changes are good. Very happy about the decision. There is nothing to cry about now! If it so turns out that the fish flock to the cap games, so be it! That must be what they want. I'll admit I was wrong. As a full stacker I'd rather their be no cap games, but that would just be greedy and selfish. Regular No Limit is back without a label as should be and that bastardized shortstack garbage is gone.

For deepstacks it's a good change.

For Pokerstars, as a business decision, I don't think so.

Thanks Stars for making the best decision in the long-term for the sustainability of the cash games, as well as a fair decision that allows everyone to choose the game they want to play with others who want to play that same game. The amount of hands I plan to play on Stars this year just greatly increased.

I'm very optimistic that this will help the full-stack games, but if all the fish decide to play CAP instead, then I'll accept that and either adjust or move on. At least this way they have a clear choice.
