This is a standard future of Rush/Zoom, and it’s not likely to change. Nor should it.

Why shouldn't it change? You cant do the same on normal tables so why should you allowed to do it in zoom.
I will write an email every day to stars if they dont change it lol

You play diffrent player every hand hand in Rush/Zoom, so it's completly diffrent.

Thats no reason for allowing ratholing? I dont see a single argument for allowing it. You buy out and join again you start with the amount you left if its within 1hour, simple. Everything else is bull****.

You can't even keep a deep stack if you want to at Zoom if you sit out more than 10mins.

The idea with ratholling restrictions is to give the other players at the table a change to win their money back, but this is not relevant in Rush/Zoom.

Say I double up on the table I'm playing on, open a second table, and close the first. Successful rathole, even with the measures you propose.

Considering ultra small buyins are not allowed, ratholing won't be a problem. If you think it's an unfair advantage, feel free to exploit it.

I wouldnt say its about giving a chance for players to win back their money, players are still free to leave whenever the want.
Its about restricting an exploit where one player doesnt feel skilled enough to play with a certain stack depth and just leaves and rejoin with his prefered stack depth.
Who cares if the player leaves after he wins a pot, i dont. But i care if he takes money aways from the table and then sits back down. Thats just ultra bad trash etiquette, going south etc

Your right but I think would be easy to make a techincal restriction so you can only join new tables with your minimum $ amount you left from last hour.

Have fun at the regular ring games then.

Yes if true that sucks i also see no benefit to allowing it. Edges are much bigger in 250BB+ situations for good players so there is no reason for a good player to ever prefer to play less deep but oh well...

I haven't seen too much evidence of ratholing tbh - plenty of 200bb+ stacks on the 10NL 6-max tables.

I would love this to keep ultra deep stacks in play. This would allow me to play at a lower stake and still make the same hourly. Not good for the fishies.

A 50bb stack has to be the most awkward/difficult stacksize to play. If someone can develop a strategy to effectively rathole that stacksize, more power to them imo, they are a better player than I am by far.

I didnt even think about 50bb "pro" shortstacks ratholers are there even any? Im thinking about 100bb people who are scared to play deep and rejoin with their 100bb after doubling up. Yes at the moment there are still lots of 200bb+ situations lets hope it stays that way.

That is the only reason people hate ratholing. That's why ratholing is a non issue in Zoom. I hate ratholers more than anyone, but the chances of you seeing that single person again is slim. If you lose to a fish, that money will be gone before he comes back around to you anyways, regardless if they rathole or not.

Plus it makes fish feel more comfortable knowing that they can top down.

So by definition "ratholing" for you is winning money and then leaving the table not giving the players a chance to win it back?

Ratholing for me is leaving the table (but having on mind to keep on playing on another table) and sitting down at a new table or while still playing other tables with your prefered stack depth. Just leaving the tables and calling it a day isnt ratholing for me. It makes you so angry because you know he is not quitting he is running with your money take it into his bank and is already sitting at another table with his prefered stack depth and not coming back.

So lets say im a 40bb ratholer, i win 40bb leave the table and sit right back down with 40bb? Your fine with that? because hey you have a chance to win back your money!

Always makes me lol when players complain of ratholing.

Its okay to bully and c-bet with air, but when a small stack calls down, doubles up and leaves, only to return and do it again, everyone gets upset instead of, heaven forbid, adjusting their game.

Lol those damn cbettors with air eh?
You should try the rathole technique in your local casino you will surely make lots of friends. Tell them no problem, adjust your game etc. Just curious what adjusments would you like to make?

Well then this discussion would be taking place in the brick & mortar forum. But guess what? Its not.

That's exactly the problem! You're trying to apply local casino etiquette online when it doesn't exist. The sites each have their own set of rules and the players have no choice but to follow them. Etiquette LMAO

Etiquette is important for some things like grimming, leeching off others, buttoning etc. but not for ratholing. It`s not like these guys that are ratholing are not consistently in your games over and over anyway. Just because you cannot beat people who study 40bb poker does not mean you have any right to cry about them doing what is in the given sets of rules on X site.
