Come on, Dwan has a higher heart there a lot. You really think Dwan would ship 180k on two black aces or AQ without a flushdraw?? And if his heart is dominated, Meltzer has pretty much 7 outs facing a lot of redraws. A set was really best case scenario for Meltzer and even then he wasn't crushing him. It is an awful call.
He put Durrrr on AK, obv.

I think it's a decent call by Meltzer. Durrr's range is just so big there. I mean, that's why he get's those pay off calls - because of his range. The more you analyze it, it becomes apparent that AM has to call.

History has shown that when you play deepstacked with durrr, you have to prepared to call off all your chips off with much less than the nuts. Meltzer knows that.

And by the way, i disagree with the poster who said that it looks like Meltz is afraid to get outplayed on tv;

I think meltz played pretty well on the episode of HSP where durr stacked him on the final hand. Even that hand he was solid - altho he ended up boating up, the only card durrr could have that beat meltz's KK was a jack - and there were only 3 out there.

I mean really who is he trying to impress? Give him some props - 2 big calls vs durrr for almost a mill total............That's stuff of mini-legend IMO.

iirc there were a million hands that had Meltzer beat in the HSP hand, including a single ace

Correction - only 2 jacks let. And yes i know there were other boats poss or pocket aces - but the way the hand played out, not really likely.

the only thing that beats KK on AxJTJ board is a jack? And there's two jacks on the board so i don't get you're "3 out there" comment.

yup, he made 2 big calls vs durrr. one time he had a bluffcatcher on the river and was wrong, the other he was a 3:1 dog.

Well sure, after the fact we know that the one call was wrong, and other call was, well, it was wrong too.....

But just because a call leads to a loss in a given situation, it doesn't mean it's not the right call over time - and I think, given the information Meltz had up to the moment he made them that both calls were correct, that's all, just my opinion.

And I further feel that the fact that both calls were for his entire stack - on TV - enhances the respectability of said calls.

The problem with Meltzers (bad) call is why would dwan all-in bluff on that board? I mean you don't make that play on a tell on that board imo.
Therefore it is consistent to put him on AhJx or something. Or 7h6h. Even if Dwan only had top pair no heart it's a coinflip imo.

looking forward to more..

Again, it's his range that creates the parameters for the call. Are you making that call vs some other players? No.

He could certainly have been semibluffing with would easily be a worse draw, or he could be just trying to take meltz off a draw with a random pocket pair.

I think the meta game with the past tv history may have came into play in this hand also - meltz knew that durrr knew that meltz sure as hell didn't want to get spanked again by him and he could have factored in the fact that durrr may have been using that reasoning/strategy with his push, which theoretically increases the possibility of an air hand or some random pair type hand in that fall within durrr's wide range.

Meltzer´s cbet with TT was the terrible thing in the first place. Standard check with good outs.

Also, Viffer's a complete douche POS for slowrolling Durrrr.

Durrrr has better etiquette than anyone in the game.
He always anounces his hand immediately after his opponents call when he knows they're beat, which shows a huge level of empathy for the fact that they're feeling anxious to know what he has and he doesn't want to prolong that moment and by the same token, their anxiety.

He's the only one to do that, afaik, at least with such consistency.

He actually paused for awhile, hoping the players would agree to the game. It's funny because he can't just come out and say "just agree to it already! I got 7-2!".
