On a serious note, when Gabe bluffed Dwan, Dwan said that the line made no sense. What was so weird about the line? Gabe might check the turn with a big ace, no?

Yeah maybe but he most certainly wouldn't raise that dry flop with it.

I think he checks the turn behind with a medium ace more often since big aces don't need pot control or deception - whatever hand calls the flop calls the turn.

I think it's Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots). They played a show in Vegas in '09 and someone mentioned how "Scott's" life had been so up and down.

I don't play live poker but isn't this the attitude viffer was talking about when online players transition into live? Its just so dumb to criticise the fish in this scenario.....

LOL, Meltzer asking the dealer to spread the pot. If you can't keep track of the size of the pot, you don't belong in this high stakes a game.

Has there been much discussion in this thread about this hand? I thought it was a bad call, but I'd be curious to see what better players than myself thought. I understand its against Durr, but at that point, I have to give him credit for a hand with a redraw that's better than my 10 high flush. Don't I? I know Durr is uberagressive, but he does pick up hands too.

I'm sure everyone else at the table was thinking the exact opposite.

Meltzer also seems physically incapable of folding, the dealer pretty much has to reach all the way out and take his cards.

I would assume that Meltzer thinks (correctly or incorrectly) that AhXx and AxKh and other hands like that are in Dwans range. Not sure if that makes it a call though, he's only slightly ahead in those cases.

It's hard to blame him. I could see Dwan having two black sevens or something, and that probably inspired Meltzer to call. Seriously, if you're playing a hand with Dwan and a really scary board comes, you know he'll take advantage of it and bluff a lot. Maybe it was a bad call by Meltzer, but Dwan just gets into people's heads.

He gives a lot of action, and so he gets a lot of action.

You need to know how much money is in the pot, and it's not that hard to keep track. "Spreading" basically screams "I'm a fish, take my money".

That said, Meltzer certainly pulled off a sweet bluff against Dwan with jack high, so he isn't without skills.

Eli: People would make fun of me if I called $3,000 more with this hand. (9 4 suited)
Ali: You should see what Dwan has! (2 3 offsuit)

Durrrr running horrible this week. He didn't run very well in the last PAD Cash Game either. Where are all the people who complain that he runs like a God on TV?
