$2k? Is that a 3rd stack of quarters up front?

Also lol that felt. Looks like someone's been rubbing it with sandpaper

Sure. The night went like this. I got my seat and bought in for 300. An action player was next on the list and once he got seated I got table change to his table and on this day it really paid off.

In the first hour he limped, I opened JJ to 15, and after 3 or 4 callers he shipped and I called. At the river he said he had nothing so I tabled my JJ and took it.

He rebought and doubled up and with us both 600 deep and a 5 utg straddle on, it comes to me on the button with about 5 limped in. I raise to 50 with KQo, and only the action player calls. Perfect. Flop is K65 with 2 spades. He checks, I bet 80 and he ships. I call, the board runs out 3 and Queen and he says he missed so I table and take it. I never make an action player show in spots like this.

Then a new player joins our table, and this guy is a big time whale by 1/2 standards. I soon get AA and 3 bet to 75 over a 15 open that had 2 callers. New player calls the 75, then check raises all in with unimproved AJ. I call and win and am at about 1500 at this point.

Then with AQ I open and the original action player pulls his limp ship move again. New player calls and I call too for a 3 way 900 is pot. New player has KT but action player shows AK after the board runs out in my favour. So 1 large pot suckout contributed solidly here. But stacks this big always come with luck on our side at some point. I ended up cashing out 2470.

@Carnivore:

I figured that there must've been at least one huge suckout but, still, gg. I don't play NL but these huge wins I see just seem so incredible. I think I'll give it a go next trip to LV.

Also: Playing poker in a strip club needing to use candles is one of the sickest things I've heard of in quite a while. You are there for the tittays but, no, you have to play poker. Sick, sick, sick. Which means that I hold you in very high regard.

I love the look of those tall stacks, but I can't mange them for poop. The few times I've built them I've knocked them over. lol Now I try to keep it to two levels at most.

My modest contribution to the thread, 1/2 NLHE in for 200 out for 803. This picture of my stack is from near the end of a 5 hour session.

Very first hand of the night I 3bet A4 diamonds 6 people to the flop. Flop the nut flush draw, check raise it to 60 after 3 people call a 20 dollar bet. Turn 6 diamonds, making my nut flush, I bet 75 and get called in two spots. River bricks, I shove and get called by both, and 2 people show me sets.

Flopped a set of Queens twice, out of the three times I got QQ. Rivered a full house with 66 after it kept getting checked through multiway. It was a good night

Nice! Plus it's good to show that there's plenty of action in limit games.
