MPN/Prima used to be one of the best networks for higher stakes almost every old Scandinavian crusher was battling on this site Lodden/Antonious/thuritz/bloom... on and on....I also had bloom up over 2 million euros a few months ago on MPN.

Some interesting and enjoyable interviews of late.

i like Alex Scott and i love his blogs, but i don't see, why there should be a big difference between him and other guys from the industry. MPN said a few times, that the rec player model is super important (not to mention all the changes they did) and in the podcast he said maximising profit is the main goal. so bottom line is, that regs make less money (which is imo inevitable anyway)

^ Unibet say pretty much the same stuff too. As someone who doesn't make a career from poker though, being treated with respect is important and I feel Unibet treat me with respect whereas Pokerstars don't.

Just finished the podcast with Alex Scott and I really enjoyed it. Please try to get more people who work for within the industry on. I like the approach that MPN and Unibet is on.

All websites claim to care about the "poker ecology" but very few are actually willing to do their part to keep the game sustainable. i.e lowering rake at the low buy ins to help players move through the ranks.

I will chime in once more... Alex Scott has addressed me personally and the public with different issues on MPN in the past, He is always approachable,
The guy really wants the best for the players on MPN without question at all levels and is a lot smarter than his humble interview portrays, as one can deduce from his blog posts.

One understands it can never be the real heart stopping action that it was oh my but as long as the recreational starts coming back thats a start.

Alex Scott came off really well imo. Anyone up for handicapping potential increase in operator revenue for Microgaming ring games up to $0.25/$0.50 in next 30 days? 90 days?

the big difference is, that MPN and unibet don't have loads of regs, so their transition to full rec model is quite different. and the smaller ones also don't give a ****, if they want to get rid of games.

e.g. mpn raised the rake for the double up sngs to 20% b/c collusion prevention makes this game a bad thing for them and scotts pretty much said "well we don't like them, but yeah .. we keep them for more money ..." they also kept at the micro rake sngs at 10%, while higher buyins where reduces just b/c it suits them in this special scenario.

bigger sites with more regs have to get rid of some winning players first ... e.g. party a few years back, before they went for the rec model ... they got rid of vip system and highstakes, which was basically a way to say to a lot of winning regs 'there's the door'.

also the word "sustainable" is relative ... i can find games with more rake than PS, but much softer and therefore a better winrate. the same guys complaining about the rake increase are those, who desperately need every tool to beat a limit (b/c it's so reg infested) ... some even play games they can't beat just b/c of rakeback.

besides that, every poker room has a different ecology ... e.g. if i have a pyramid with tons of players on the bottom, i can reduce the rake, so ppl move up to the higher raked games.

if you have plenty of ppl on the top, who are taking out money, and you decrease the rake at the bottom, so more ppl move up, it could be possible, that the ppl on top get the money out of the system faster than before.

thing is, nobody here knows the numbers and the money flow within the system of PS, so saying MPN's model would work on PS is pure speculation. idk the numbers either and even if i would have all the data and protections, any new rake system can fail miserably b/c players (winning or losing) behave different than expected.

they only thing i'm pretty sure about is, that it seems PS wanted to lower the volume, so certain players are forced out. given the fact that poker is in decline and every operator faces higher costs, prolly not the worst idea.

another thing about the 'most mony longterm' vs 'most money shorterm' ... if i would run a company and have to pay off 'some bills' asap, i would prolly go for the 2nd bis model

awesome pod cast with Alex Papi... really liked it... I also just watched the Haseeb/Girah pod and omg.... I don't know much about that dude but he seemed like a wanna be Igor K with how he 'approaches' this life he wants to live... All I could think about was how convincing he was... smooth talking scam artist? That was my take on the dude, but I may be wrong... very interesting I may watch it again to watch his mannerisms more....

he prob had a lot of deeper problems before poker and after that he needed to figure out, glad to see him doing well tho kinda inspiring to see someone go against what everyone says about not being able to "make it" after poker.

i think anyone successful these days in poker making a good amount/year can do whatever they'd want to in life. poker has taught me so, so much. honestly poker saved my life and i owe it so much.

ok, now i'm getting to the point of him talking about people in the casino, ok that i can agree with 100 percent but most of those people are loser degenerates who haven't worked at the game and been through hell to become a real winner. when you come out on the other side you can start appreciating everything so much more and the stress doesn't seem to be that terrible when you're crushing it due to working hard every day.
I really like when you said 'poker saved my life and i owe it so much'...
I have the same view. Poker saved my life... and I owe it so, so much more
