the extra card draw really is needed, due to lack of heals in that deck you've gotta get malyGOAT + dmg out and you can't do that if he's stuck in your deck.

So according to vSyndicate the only counter to Midrange Shaman is Freeze Mage, which is not even a good deck in the meta. This game is broken.

Aggro freeze mage works well vs it too. And control warrior with yogg as well.

I'm currently running 2 Nourish 1 Auctioneer but I'm starting to think you're correct and 1 of each is enough.

The control warrior with Yogg doesn't seem very strong against Shaman. At least not the one on vicious syndicate. And I don't know that the N'Zoth version does either. Yogg one just doesn't have any minions and it's really hard to fight back on the board just relying on top decking the right removal. No one with a brain plays into game losing brawls.

I'm working on a hybrid, heh. First off there is no chance in hell Gorehowl is better than Fool's Bane in this meta. So made that change, next up I decided to add minions, I cut an acolyte for Cairne, revenge for Infested Tauren, and Nzoth for Gromm. Gromm literally 8 mana Azure Drake removal right now.

I also put Harrison Jones in there but I don't remember how, I don't know what I removed. It wasn't a spell.

Suddenly it dawns on me that I'm running to the Nzoth version with Yogg instead of Gromm. And only one Infested. 2x Infested and no Elise might be correct too.

Remember when I asked if I could play Hunter with only 1 copy of COTW and everyone instantly LOLed? I finally put in some serious hunter time and got to my highest rank yet, so thanks for that.

Now for my next dumb question: Is it possible to play any type of control warrior without Justicar?

No, Midrange Shaman is okay vs Yogg CW.

you can combo them at a pretty good rate if you're playing two copies of The Illusionist, but I think you're diluting your deck too much. I have tried playing with one Illusionist but the combo is more dream than reality. in any case, Fool's Bane is really good even taking a ton of damage my opinion. so the easiest way to lose against Shaman is that you were forced to brawl because they spam the board and then they drop Thunder Bluff Valiant after the brawl... you need an answer to this immediately. Fool's Bane you take 8 damage to clear it but the mid-range decks usually don't have burst. The aggro Shaman aren't running Thunder Bluff Valiant in the first place. As control warrior the matchup against a more classically aggressive shaman is much easier to defeat then the spirit claw version. Don't really need a tech vs them other than Justicar, although I've decided to run Harrison because all I'm playing against is Shaman, Hunter, and other Warriors.

I would really prefer not to grind to Legend with control Warrior, just because I've done that a few times already. But I want to get there this month, so with time running out it might force my hand.

Freeze is only good in tournament settings where you can ban warrior. Otherwise its total garbage right now. The state of the meta is not very fun at the moment.

freeze is a super high skill intensive deck and the reward just isnt there for those kinds of decks

people should just play midrange hunter or shaman if they want to level up

At what point on the ladder do you stop seeing tempo mages?

I see them all the time at ranks 9-12 and even the occasional freeze mage.
