Papers? PAPERS!?

You just lost 20 nerd points. You need to speak Klingon for the rest of the day.

I brought my Glock to HPI2013, why wouldn't I bring it to 2014?

Please do, and I may borrow it from you for a bit at the range.

But I think that was jzpiano's attempt at a slogan for HPI 2014. I was thinking something more like:

"Bad beats in the heat."
"Sun, fun and guns."
"I will pop a cap in your ass if you two-outer me."

This... And glock humor in HP is always funny. Maybe while we are at it we should design a custom set of chips for Two Rooks Casino.

Update:

Found a rental for $120 over four days through USAA discounts. Any takers to split the rental? Last year, jz schmend and myself carpooled together. If a couple of us shack up in the same hotel (not necessarily room) we can split up the cost. Unfortunately, pali's degenerate gambling can't help us line up a hotel this year, but I can book at the government rate so there's also that.

Finally, Adrian is back to a 50/50 for going to HPI with me. I told him that if he goes he has to be at The Screening, to which he replied he can only tolerate BD once a year.

Promised to check in yesterday, but I'm running about 0% on those lately...

I'm happy to split costs with anyone, share whatever, provided I don't screw up people's sessions while making them pick me up from the airport

I've you've got the hotel you're staying at locked in, let me know, and I'll book it. I need to get flights taken care of.

If you're looking to book a hotel, search near the University of Central Florida (zip codes 32826/32828). Most of the hotels that come up should be within a few minutes of my house.

There's a pretty good selection since I live near a large university and research park, and pricing runs $50-150 per night depending on how low you're willing to go. Most of the hotels around here are major chains, but there are a couple local fleabags too, so feel free to PM or post here if you're unsure about a particular place.

Also, government rate ($101/night) should be available most places.

I don't know how he does it. I can't watch it once. I've tried twice, and gave up twice. I got a couple of chuckles from it, but my mind kept wandering.

It's comedy, and everybody has different tastes. You probably get the jokes if you know anything about the Blaxploitation genre, but that doesn't mean you have to find them funny.

I'm not completely sure, but my guess is that there will be a poker game going on for those who don't like BD or don't want to watch it.

Yeah, I get that. That doesn't mean I can't give my review.

I think Will Farrell is hilarious, but I found Anchorman almost entirely not funny. An unfunny script relying on a funny man to deliver the laughs, which usually doesn't work for me. An anchor man drinking scotch and saying, "Scotch, scotch, I love scotch" is not humorous in my book. Plenty of others loved it, of course, but again, that's my review.

I saw Shaft during its first run in the theater, so I get the context and everything. And there were some funny gags and lines. Just not enough for me to maintain interest. I would say it was funnier than Anchorman, but that doesn't mean much.

I have been slacking on the event chip design thanks to an extremely busy week. I'm going to get back on it and try to get something posted by the weekend.

This sounds incredibly fun. I'm going to give it about a 15% chance that I can make it. My sister is getting married in September and my parents live in Georgia, so there is at least some chance I can come over and be at this then travel up and crash at my parents' house for a month until the wedding then come back to Korea. I know my parents would like that, anyway. I don't see them much these days what with living in Korea and all. I'm going to give that plan some serious thought.

I might swing by a couple nights; depends on a few factors. Of'course, if I have my daughter that weekend she has the priority, but otherwise I'll probably at least come out Thursday night for a bit.

Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Will play stop for the screening, or will we keep going? Just curious.

I noticed most of the cash game action listed is FL; are there plans for no limit (whether .50/1 or 1/2, whatever)? I haven't played FL since Party Poker circa 2005ish...

I'll run whatever folks want to play.

My guess is that Thursday night will be mostly 2+2ers, so probably one table of FL. Friday I'm expecting to run two tables, probably one FL and one .25/.50 NLHE.

Saturday will be the tourney, and I'll open cash tables as folks bust out.

FYP

I motion that we play during the screening, with intermittent quoting expected throughout.
