Euron dying before the end is as close to a lock as things get in the GoT universe. A 100 different ways it could go down.

Sansa went quiet because she was stunned that anyone would trust her...remembering that no one in the past respected her nor treated her equal.

I have a bad feeling that Sansa is going to screw something up majorly.

Could see the wall getting breached under her watch.

yeah i see euron as being on kind of an oberyn type arc, an over the top entertaining agent of chaos who then gets snuffed out fairly spectacularly.

to whoever was talking about littlefinger and varys becoming fairly one dimensional, i am really curious how they play out LF's arc this season. the resolution they are hinting at (of sansa learning to play the game and playing him eventually) doesn't really feel all that well-set-up to me. at the same time, wider circumstances have kind of limited what LF can do in terms of his usual playing people off each other... he has burned bridges and everybody is in open war, not really the best circumstances for his type of maneuvering.

The way things have to move with so few episodes left (and their willingness to continue to have filler scenes in each episode so far this season) I imagine Jon has to be back at either winterfell or the wall within approximately ~1.5 episodes at the max.

Where the heck is ghost and when did we last see him?
07-26-2017 , 03:07 AM
he's chilling in the cgi budget closet

You'd have thought that Jon would have at least wanted Ghost by his side for the Battle of the Bastards.
07-26-2017 , 08:39 AM
Absolutely. Or with him when he goes to see Danaerys: a direwolf shows his power in some sense.

I rewatched episode 2 last night. The fleet battle makes no sense at all. But I loved the Arya line, both with Hot Pie and with Nymeria. By trying to keep her identity, she has in some sense given it away.

I like how she acts exactly like the Hound in the tavern. Seems a bit strange that she's not acting more like a faceless man which I imagine would be much more disciplined and low key but whatever, this is more fun to watch.

The showrunners stated that Ghost wasn't there due to budget (CGI). Kirby wasn't being facetious.

The linkage between her character development and Gregor's is terrific; nice point in your part.

It seems weird that they're more willing to spend cgi money on a random encounter between Arya and her wolf then on the battle where it actually doesn't make sense for the wolf to be absent.

That probably means that there was a good reason for the Arya scene and Nymeria is gonna do something awesome in one of the following episodes.

As far as I can tell, this is good editing of real wolves rather than the kind of CGI interaction that would have been required for Ghost in the Battle of the Bastards

Yes.

Bran warging into a dragon would be the stone nuts. Showing Drogon setting things on fire and eating people from a POV perspective omg omg omg. Would rival the Night King raising the Hardhome corpses for GOAT moments.

Will never happen because we can't have nice things and they won't even pay to CGI a wolf, but we can dream.

Really hope they don't do that. Would be such a cliche cop out. A kraken tentacle needs to come out of the sea and grab Euron in mid rant a la Sam Jackson in Deep Blue Sea. That would be both a sweet homage as well as just sweet in general.

His brother, too! (same actor who played Billy Bones in Black Sails)

I don't care what anyone says the greatest of all time hotpie is back. And he will rule all 7 kingdoms from the iron throne!
07-26-2017 , 04:45 PM
They must have some seriously expensive episodes on the way if there's no money left to CGI a wolf.

But then I guess we wouldn't have had a show.

He may have been the best character. Certainly top 5.

I've had a bit of nerdy fun over the seasons spotting castmembers who were in other things. I recently rewatched Rome on HBO and had not realized before that the guy who played Brutus is the same guy who plays Edmure. Caesar = Mance was an easier catch.
07-26-2017 , 05:34 PM
Edmure / Brutus seemed pretty obvious to me, as the characters seem somewhat similar (both can't live up to the things expected of them but have a high opinion of themselves).

Mance/ Ceasar was pretty obvious ldo, but you seem to have overlooked Indira Varma who plays both Ellaria Sand and appears in Rome as
Spoiler:
Niobe, the wife of Lucius Vorenus.
