To everyone who followed the Megaupload saga, Kim Dotcom apparantly gave an interview yesterday, watching it now:

Interview is deff worth a watch, an interesting thing I didn't know is that every major copyright holder had direct access to the servers to delete content that was infringing their copyright rights. They all did this happily but still decided to sue him, lol.

+1 From what I can tell you can click on a link to see all your subscribed threads and that's about it. Maybe email notifications of some sort but that's it.

The default setting is usually to auto-subscribe you to threads you have posted on (and you can manually subscribe without posting), but you won't know about it if you've never looked at your subscribed threads.

Click the arrow by My 2+2 in the top menu bar and choose subscribed threads. It should have links to all the threads you've posted on, and any that have new content since you last looked will be in bold.

If you post in a thread you automatically subscribe to it and you can view only subscribed threads. I only do that on my phone, and then only because I post here and in OOT. If this is the one and only thread you post in (it is, right?) it won't really matter to you, except for the occasional time this thread falls of the front page.

I'm in!!

Looking forward to weekend of STTF madness with Buffy, NJD, Entim and Josem in Dutchieland, next weekend.

This is really cool (and can be confronting to some, lol), apparantly facebook keeps a list that shows who you "follow" (more correct word would be stalk) the most on Facebook. You can ask to look at this list. No one else can see it, so don't be afraid:

http://thekeesh.com/2011/08/who-does...earching-for/#

My list was very inaccurate in some parts but still showed some things that made me realise Facebook knows A LOT about me, lol.

EDIT: and next time someone leaves his FB open on a public computer, use script, copy paste on wall, log out.

stay busy, exercise is best option. try to avoid video games/tv, although the former helped me with my break. now is a great time to take up any new hobby/pick up an old one you had been putting off.

first one didn't work for me, here's an alternate link.

so ridiculous that the american government is on a leash held by the entertainment industry. we put less effort into prosecuting people guilty of genocide.

Vivid dreams ahoy. Get plenty of exercise to make sure you're knackered enough to sleep, and plenty of healthy fresh food to boost your mood. Google "sleep hygiene" if you have trouble getting good kip. 5HTP can be useful if you feel like **** (seratonin precursor - it's like an instant anti-depressant which works for a lot of people).

If you get ratty, remember what's causing it and chill.

Keep a closer eye on your ego when playing. Weed improves my game, and you don't want to be going through a downswing on top of all that.

I'm sure he's a lovely sincere man, but he's been hoodwinked by some really dim ideas. Consumer-based economies grind to a halt when the workers can no longer afford to buy what they make (as Henry Ford pointed out a century ago when he developed production line technology), and that's exactly where the Randian idiocy leads (and has already led over the last 30 years of neoliberal nonsense).

Anarcho-capitalism is a self-defeating fantasy. Selfish individualists can't get **** done because they're too busy trying to wheedle out of paying/doing their fair share. The Austrian school got us into this mess and there is no way on earth they'll be able to get us out of it.

It's cheaper to buy stuff collectively, and the real scandal of the American 'low tax' regime is that you all pay the same taxes as they do in Sweden, you just don't get anything back for them because it's all being siphoned to the uber-rich. The American Dream is a myth, and the uber-rich won't be needing you guys for much longer.

But yes, I'm sure he's a very nice man. Just a bit gullible. Or very rich. Or both.

You don't know what his political stance is?

He's a dyed in the wool Randian - he even named his son after her. I don't have to refer to Ron Paul's speeches to point out that the political school of thought he follows is bat**** crazy self-defeating idiocy.

If he's not rich (I have no idea about the man's personal life), he's gullible. A useful idiot for the corporate parasites who have bought our democracies and use them to make sure the money floods upwards ever more rapidly.

Please do this anyway, if you don't mind. Link to his words, not others.

That's not how political theory works. But if you insist:

"the proper role for government in America is to provide national defense, a court system for civil disputes, a criminal justice system for acts of force and fraud, and little else."

How is that not Randian bull****?
03-01-2012 , 02:02 PM
i am very familiar with his political stance. he wants to audit the federal reserve, decriminalize all drugs and treat drugs as a medical issue not criminal, stop most spending on war, strengthen our infrastructure and education system. unless he is flat out lying, how is that at all useful to the corporate parasites (overlords is more appropriate).

he is a little bat**** crazy, but he's mostly crazy about stuff that i can let slide. so to me, he is very appealing.
03-01-2012 , 02:07 PM
you're hung up on one quote of his and a whack job author who died 30 years ago?
03-01-2012 , 02:12 PM
I like Paul and a lot of his ideas but it kinda irks me that people think he'd be the most poker friendly president. When the only way a bill would get passed is with heavy legislation and taxation, and Paul only wants unregulated and untaxed poker, he's prob the 2nd worst prez for making legalized poker happen behind Santorum.

The problem with Paul is that he refused to compromise on his ideas and that doesnt work well in the US political system.

We talking about RP or Ayn Rand?

here's where that quote is taken from: http://paul.house.gov/index.php?opti...1106&Itemid=69

like most quotes taken out of context , there's more!
