you're either a very hard person to work with and a ****ty backer when a horse is running bad(2 diff guys you have had trouble with) or else you just have ***** awful judgement when it comes to picking your horses.

Every backer has issues with stakee's.. this is why people are trying to get bax and sheets to release a list of scammers that they have come across. Yea 2 people screwed us over, but that's out of a larger sample size. It's not like 2 out of 3 people we staked hate us now. A lot of people in the high stakes community respect me and trust me. I'm friends with a lot of hsnl regulars and some sponsored players and whatever..I'm a very honest person and I'm really not out to get anyone here. I'm just seeking what I'm owed. There's risk in any business venture.

Didnt read past first page but i played with Devin a month ago and was very puzzled by some shoves he made and was really wondering how he was a winning player. Guess this clears that up.

as a completely mutual person who knows nothing about tournaments or has even heard of these two players and breifly skimmed almost every reply in this thread ; i'm leaning towards the side of devinr12 being the good guy if I was on the jury team.

i was giving the original poster the benifet of the doubt until the other guy came on and said that devinr12 instantly paid 30k to them after shipping the sunday warmup.

it sounds to me like the 6.5k that was used for life expenses was mutually agreed upon to go into makeup while still being staked (that whole 6.5k thing it seems like either party wasn't exactly sure what was going on). therefore, if devinr12 doesn't get dropped he would def. pay back the 6.5k (through makeup) is how i'm seeing it. but since he got dropped; it seems like a huge grey area as to what should be done.

i really can't see anyone wasting their time trying to lose tournaments on purpose either so they can get dropped and have another person can pick them up. why would they do that? that seems foolish considering that it would severely hurt their OPR stats and therefore nobody would want to pick them up in the first place after seeing their krappy results. and second of all, i can't imagine someone loading up a bunch of sunday majors knowing they were gonna lose on purpose in every single one of them at some point during the day. it just doesn't make sense.

again i think the kicker to this story was when the guy came on and said devinr12 instantly paid them back the 30k like they had agreed on after he won the sunday warmup. if he was a true scumbag, he woulda never paid back the 30k.

again i hope my post is takin lightly but i just thought i'd chime into something i don't even care about and possibly give an neutral point of view. sounds mostly like a big misconception of everything though. i've seen threads like this before. my suggestion to everyone is don't back or be backed and boom your problems are solved.

did you have any idea how sick the tournament varaince could potentially be for a high volume player? a high volume tournament player will have unreal sick variance for several reasons. the first reason is because tournaments are sick and bad beats happen often. if a person is playing all the time, there's no way they can play their A game at all times. it's impossible. they will start playing absoltuely terrible at times but they think they're playing good and the only way they'll start playing good again is if they luckbox a tournament playing like krap and gain some forward momentum/confidence; or the simple solution is to take a one week break or longer. they will start fastplaying draws so they can say, "damn how do i always miss so many outs" and they will overplay top pair on drawy boards so they can say, "damn how do i always get sucked out on".... it just HAPPENS... inevitable for tournament players. if i ever backed a tournament player i'd only let them play one or two days per week because most can't handle it everyday mentally.

and i just looked up devinr12 on officialpokerrankings and my only advice for him is to get a life. wow, how anyone could play so much poker is beyond me. i would be depressed beyond belief if i played that much poker. ok i'm done with this thread. peace out everyone and good luck getting it all resolved.

no i'm just really bored right now and if you look at my posting history you'll see that i've made a lot of random long posts and rants today about nothing really.

First of all, he never paid his previous backers in full. They posted saying that they were paid.. it was a partial payment. He doesn't want to be involved in this though. Also, he wasn't just playing bad and losing.. he was sitting out in 15 mtt at a time including 100r's etc, losing thousands.
One example that really made me realize something was going on were hands like this.. he is 70bb deep, opens utg+1 in non ante level, bb 3b and he jams 70bb with TJo. He repeatedly made plays like this that made absolutely no sense. I literally felt like he was trying to lose when i watched him play. i really have no idea how you could ever take his side.. and to clarify the 6.3k thing.. I told him as far as numbers go, say he was 30k in makeup. I said that it would be 36.3k until he got the money and returned it to me, then it would be 30k again. Just to keep track of it. I figured if he was out of makeup by the time the check came, he could just keep that 6.3k instead of me having to give him money online. I never told him it was part of makeup and that he could keep it. He repeatedly lied to me for 2 months about the status of the check and then told me he spent all of it a while ago. If he's so innocent and correct, why would he lie about what he did with the check? It' should be clear, after reading what I posted that he sent me, that he knew he was wrong in spending the money, thought he would get the money back in time without me even noticing he spent it, and failed in doing so.. that's why he finally decided to tell me the truth. Why would I waste my time posting all of this if I lying? The only reason he's responding in this thread is because hes an ego maniac and can't stand that people think so lowly of him, which is made very clear by his posts.
