Bryan,

As a player coming from a NLHE background and switching to PLO8/NLO8 it really makes no sense to cut these $215s. I like most people find NLHE too hard to beat these days and look for other forms of poker to play.

PLO/PLO8/NLO8 was the easiest switch and now I find a lot of other players making the change over. I've always tried to work hard so that i could play the $215s which i have only just achieved. To find them cut down is essentially terrible by AMAYA as they never miss an overlay. If these go then there is going to be no tournament in the price range of $109 to the $530.

I think adding $82s is fine but can't you run them on opposite days to the $215s. They have always had the presige and I always felt this was the tournament to compete with the best players. The $82s may have bigger fields but to me they are just like any other tournament and don't hold the same level of excitement for me.

I Don't believe there are enough 08 mtts on stars and adding more, rather than cutting back on them can only be better in the long run as more and more people are switching away from NLHE.

*Just to clarify other mixed games that don't attract runners this will be great for as lowering the buyins will attract players to razz and horse etc, but for 08 this just makes no sense.

*Also adding in a Progressive Knockout 08 mtt in the afternoon would also be great or replacing the $13.50 ko with a PKO would be better as the structure is so shallow makes play terrible. The $2.20 - $3.30 tournaments always attract hundreds of players but as a UK player, there are no real tournaments in the $5-$20 in the day and adding an $8.80 or $7.50 like there is in the middle of the night would generate alot more of a prizepool than these micro tournaments.

Thanks, Pandick

For what it's worth, and maybe I'm the only one who has a negative reaction to this, but it is kind of strange to have the Phase 1s labelled as satellites. They kind of are satties, but at the same time they're different// I would play them on days when I wasn't playing satties except I nearly always forget about them given I have satellites filtered out of my main tournament lobby to avoid the insane amount of clutter. If there was a way to filter Phase tournies separately or not list them as satellites the number of runners in that would probably increase sizeably

All the sats to the Nightly Forty Grand are still labelled Nightly Thirty Five Grand.

Has the prize pool been been less than $50k for this tournament in the last few weeks?

I think Stars should really keep those 82$ PLO and PLO8-tournaments, but also restore 215$ events for reasons other posters have already mentioned. Just switch them so that 215$ event is on other day than 82$ events (so NLO8 215$ in Saturday and PLO8 in Sunday) to make them little more mixed.

I haven't played those 215$ and 82$ PLO8/NLO8 events much for two reasons: 1) Bad satellite structure and 2) lack of good O8-tournament schedule to support them. I want to concentrate in one format when playing high buy-in online tournaments, and there's simply no big buy-in tournaments enough to keep me 4-6-tabled for good chunk of evening.

PLO / PLO8 / NLO8 are far most popular games not including NL Texas, and yet your tournament offering of those is rather bad, more like some minor formats like 2-7 triple draw (I like it also, though) than NL Texas. Your player base would support probably easily even if you would DOUBLE your tournament offering in these games (or at least in NLO8 and PLO).

P.S. Now that you just over doubled your rake (+150%) in NLO8 hypers can we have more of them, too?

P.S. I'm not playing Texas NL in PokerStars, other sites have much better offering of those (in name of promotions, weaker players and other reasons). But I could almost purely play O8 in Stars if you just would offer it.

Hi Bryan,

was there any actual consultation process before these were reduced or can you explain the rationale? It seems the issue is not that 200 is too high but they they existed in a no mans land with no closer lower buyins (ie $82s as you are replacing them with) and being too low for high stakes players. Also its mainly the very early events that get tiny fields.

What was actually needed was prober tiers of events (82s, 215, 500-1ks) as with NL events. Just looking through the registrants youre gonna lose a lot of people for whom 215 was barely worth playing in the first place and since a lot of people were selling action not sizably increase field size.

Anyway, I wont be playing them anymore so if anyone with great results/references etc wants to sell action pm.

thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, wrong tournament (I think).

Yea def gotta make them regular MTTs. I play 20% of the flights I would otherwise as it is now. Guess Amaya doesn't want my rake afterall. Wooooot

Despite my clear preference for the new 82$ Weekly PLO, I would like to point out that all of the 215$ Omaha Weeklies should have stayed in the schedule, since the field-sizes were actually decent (all over 100 on average, iirc).

An other thing, I just couldn't unreg from a 2,20$ 2-7 TD MTT, despite it still not starting for 6 minutes... is that normal???

+1,very good post.

Though, I think that we will have to (hope and) see how much bigger the fields-sizes will become.

actually my initial feeling was the same but you can actually set it up in a nicer way and there's a few new options that are handy.
