Thoughts on some of the new satellite formats trialed during TCOOP

I was a fan of the 109 2x to the 700. Think this could be a popular format to the Super Tuesday, as well as offer a rake break compared to 215 turbos. Same would apply for a 55 2x (though I guess the 55rs they have now are just as good). Anyways Just interested in what people think of having more 2x type formats vs high buyin FOs

I am usually not one to complain about rake issues as I think a lot of them are exaggerated but the 320 deep hypers to EPT London are raked too highly imo and I will have to skip them as a result as I am not sure they are beatable, please consider lowering the rake on these specific satellites.

It does not seem right that the regular qualifier is 500 + 30 and then the hyper is 300 + 200

lower the rake in the 215 sats and 109 turbo sats to the tuesday

Might be a good idea to give Tickets instead of T$, and after the first Ticket T$. So people dont only grind these and dont play the targeted event.

Also I was a big Fan of the huge satellite on pokerstars.fr that gave like 20 Packages to Deauville(It replaced the Sunday-Special). Overall the 530$ EPT-Sats are highly reginfested and because of the structure a Fish rarely really wins a Package.

So a big satellite with like 30 Packages guaranteed, would benefit Fish and Regs and later on the EPT too(As it`s less Regulars there too).

So plz run a big Sat the last week you run Package-Satellites for the specific EPT that would be awesome (And even then you might run a big subsat so every Player could potentially qualify) This would really give every player the possibilty to experience a big liveevent.

Also overall I suggest less choice in the satelittes but bigger Satellites. For example instead of 10x 1 Seat GTD 4.4 3x turbo to the 500€ qualifier make one with 10 Tickets(So it`s a must play).

Since EPT steps are not working for the London EPT (which i don't understand why but ok..) can you open step G for EPT Berlin sooner?

fix 3xt sats so they have a less rapey feel to them

offer the option to buy 2 add ons

reset the blinds after add on imo

action hour-ish 3xts would be a novel solution as well, roll back to 1.5/3k and let people have a 20bb avg stack to start post add on.... sounds glorious (and ffs then accelerate the blind levels and make them action hour 2xts screw the wasted attention of all the essentially worthless levels)

anything where the average stack isnt 5.5bbs would be appreciated

clearly noone from stars satelite development team has ever been raped for units for the 30 minutes prior to add on only to come in with 2.5bb and have 1-7 hands to "pick their spot"

really looking for 20-200$ MTT-Sats within a 1-3$R range and 2x- or 3x-Turbo for non "hot/big" events like

normal daily tournaments with BI higher than that of a rec and a medium sized field. Lay out some 1-2 Seat guarantees 2 & 3 hours before the MTT and we're good.

Any chance you could add some more satties to the ANZOPS Main event throughout the evening. There are 1-2 11c satties starting at 05.00ET, with no other options.

It would be really good to see some 3/5/11r turbos (Or 2x 3x turbos) in the lead up to the Main. I think they would be reasonably popular and also lead to a bigger field in the main event, which is good for everyone.

Quick fix: Some deep hypers such as tourney 684315653 have 75€ in their name, but cost 75+7 = 82€.

Will there be more sats to the Master Finale or was today the last day? Event is 14 days away, but none are in the client.

Please can you put all the hyper sattys back into the client like 15 minutes after registration for the Supersonic closes? There is demand for hyper sattys late Sunday evenings and I can't see why you wouldn't add them back into the client earlier than you currently do?

there's a lot of discussion in the sunday thread right now about possible satellite misplay yesterday. i dont know whether or not it happened (and no one can), but there might be something we can do to prevent it from happening again


i think there needs to be some kind of bounty system added like stars is trying with some satellites (and i alluded to earlier in this thread).

we need a way to combat the ridiculous stuff that goes on during these big money bubbles (and it's not just bryn, and it wasnt just yesterday).

not sure what an ideal system is, but how about one of these 3 formats:

1. any money leftover in the pp that doesnt form a seat is a bounty paid to the person who bursts the bubble

2. since there isnt always extra $$$, how about a buyin where a portion goes to the bounty pool, and the person who bursts the bubble gets that on top of their seat. so lets say there's a $60 satellite to a $500 tournament. $50 goes towards the PP, $5 to rake, then $5 in a bounty pool. if win the entire bounty pool by being the person that ends the bubble. so in this case lets say 30 people played, the person who ends the bubble would make an extra $150 on top of their seat they won

3. superKO sattys (but then the PP is smaller is a major drawback)

any other ideas? the current system breeds some suspicious behavior (and whether it's malicious or not, it ruins the player experience, so it needs to be fixed)

@The Lipo Fund I assume your proposing the bounty system for qualifiers to live events (and/or big online tournaments with a >$1k buy-in or a similar cut off) I don’t think they’re needed for sats to the SM/SWU/Big 162 etc they’re so shallow at the end that what’s been discussed in the other thread basically doesn’t happen.

I’m coming at this from the angle of a satty reg, but a rec in the sense that I’ve never played a $700 EPT qualifier, but have played a few higher ones to WSOP/similar target events on other sites and got in through a lower sub qualifier. I can’t see Stars using the ‘spare’ money to use as a bounty and I think a lot of recs like me who sub qualify and play these wouldn’t be happy with the remaining prize pool that doesn’t make up a seat being used as a bounty.

The payout structure in, for example, the £530 EPT London satty, is top heavy as it is, with 1 in 16.6 getting a seat (6%), that anyone who satellites into it from a sub-qualifier is probably glad of the chance to win a £1,050 ‘rebate’ if they go deep. You can argue that most recs might not know that the payouts work like that when they’re trying to qualify, but in terms of the poker economy and potentially generating more seats, if a rec gets a rebate they’ll quite possibly use it to try again and in the process create more seats to the target event and so on. Or reinvest it in other tournaments on Stars, thus helping the site and the poker economy.

I’m happy to admit that my thoughts are just that and not based on statistics or anything. And if Stars had stats to show that most of the players in these £500/$700 type qualifiers are regs rather than recs then it should definitely be something they consider.
