The format of the test is really different. It's on a computer and the difficulty adjusts based on performance. I would take a practice test or two just to get comfortable, but you should have no problems getting in the top 40%.

At least he wasn't giving the guy the shocker.

I'm trying to find a good, free practice test online but no luck so far.

I think the fact that it's on the computer will help me, especially on the writing section. My handwriting is horrible, and I type pretty damn fast.

The GRE is a joke. Not a helpful comment I know, but I'd go to your advisor to see what they have assuming you're in uni atm.

I agree that this isn't a stand alone case, very cowardly tho imo.

You can download some practice tests from the GRE website. Powerprep or summats.

FWIW I took the ACT and got a 29. I took the GRE and scored 800Q/570V. I took a couple practice tests for the GRE but only focused on quant (econ ftw!).

With a little digging you should be able to find the rubric used for grading the essays as well. And since it is CAT I would recommend at least a couple practice tests so you get used to the time particularly w/r to math. Learning the tricks to use to finish questions quickly should help alot.

EDIT: If you only want top 40% f it don't study. TBH a ton of tards take the GRE (psych, soc, humanities etc.) they boost your %tile a non trivial amount.

The English majors of the world resent that comment!

And I'm sure all the math guys helped me get in the top 1% on the verbal portion. Woot, thanks all

GL Slacka!!!

WTF eye gouging. It sets such a bad precedent for these players to know they can get away with assault with just a slap on the wrist.

Haha I'm going back for my masters with licensure in secondary language arts education...I don't resent it. The verbal is definitely my strength...

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to get a few practice tests on-line, but I don't think I'll bother with books/software since a top 40% shouldn't be that tough.

Anyone who Ive played with semi recently, can you answer me 1 question. Be honest. Am I just terrible now?

Ive made like $750 in my last 2800 sngs and I'm officially confused.

Percy ****ing Harvin!

Coming soon to crush your favorite team, imo
Your team better make the Super Bowl this year, cause you got Childress for another two years+ after this season. Pretty sick talented team right now in all three phases, especially if Winfield comes back healthy at some point.

After watching the Vikings D-Line vs. the Packers O-Line, I think Favre was pretty pleased to be playing in purple...
11-02-2009 , 05:38 PM
Yeah I think I defended the Jared Allen trade on here a few times. Not really doing that anymore. Although if Branden Albert goes on to anchor our line for 12 more years, I might hopefully someday feel not completely nauseous about us keeping LJ and letting Allen go. There is no frowny smiley intense enough to express my feelings on that atm. Allen and Tony G, our two best players, fun guys to watch, good guys to have on your team - gone.

Haha its all perspective I suppose.

Also busted out Banjo Kazooie today. FFS N64 makes me draw wood.

If you're just concerned with the verbal, I'd find yourself a copy of the vocab list and study it. There's a long list of a thousand words (?) and a short list of about 100, if I recall correctly. The short list worked fine for me.

Keep in mind, your test scores are good for 5 years, and you never know if you might decide on going to a different school later on down the line with higher test score requirements. I felt like studying was worth it, but at the time, I was also trying to get into top-tier grad schools, and that didn't really pan out. I blame the English Subject test. That thing was a beast.

Anyways, good luck with the test and grad school. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Although eye gouging probably shouldn't be allowed, the bottom of piles in football where 2 teams are fighting over a ball may be the place you should avoid most if you want to be comfortable and avoid pain. Ball (not the football) twisting, punching, eyegouging, spitting, and language that would make death row prisoners blush are common occurences in the scrounge over a loose ball. It's unfair to the kid to suspend him for very long for continuing to do what he has been taught. A half game suspension is a joke though. Either what he did was wrong and over the top violence that has no place in the sport, or acceptable. Giving him just a half game reeks of wanting to look like they did something while continue to condone such actions. If you are going to punish someone, punish them. I expect nothing better of teams in the SEC though. See: Alabama WR suspended for 6 games for lying to the NCAA about breaking rules and recieving a laptop from boosters VS Dez Bryant, WR at Oklahoma State, being out for the season for lying about a meeting with Deion Sanders where no NCAA rules were broken.

While I agree it was obviously blatant and generally douchebaggery, I won't deny that it happens all the time and doesn't get enforced. I also won't be so naive to think that UGA didn't do anything to cause him to retaliate. I do remember seeing him on the sidelines earlier in the game getting eyedrops and rubbing his eyes. So I suspect there is more to it than meets the eye (duc what I did there?).

Shark fwiw I played a decent amount of 27s/38s with you last month and I think you play pretty well. No idea how much effort you put into game selection but I think it's pretty important at 27-60s, last month was my 1st at 27s/38s and a lot of the regs seem like they could care less about playing sngs with 5+ good regs so they can eek out some ****ty edge / play for rakeback

I agree with all that. Winfield is hurt pretty bad

I know this feeling from being a long-time Timberwolves and Twins fan. I dont want to rub it in, but its awesome to be on the good side of one of these deals for a change.

I had to do this because it was trying to do it every time I opened it and I'm incredibly impatient.

Oh, and new avatar, I can no longer openly support the Buffalo Bills.
