Would need to know what game it's on, but it looks like your sample is still too small to be able to say much (hard to read the numbers).

Depending on the game, it could possibly just be variance in things like card distribution (running into better hands a lot, etc).

Beginner/Basic Question Thread

I played some 9 man sng and 10 man fifty 50 and i find these games to be very reg infested. Even at the low stakes. I played some 180 mans and i do see some bad players there. I do know the other format for sng is 18 mans and 45 mans.

Is it true that 1 table stt whether sng or fifty 50 will always be tougher than more than 1 table? I also read 18 mans are reg infested as well? I played a good amount of them and they also seem reg infested but not as bad as the 9 m mans and 10 man fifty/50.

So that mean the softest form of sng would be 180 mans and 45 mans , then 18 mans and then fifty 50 and then 9 mans? im disregarding 6 max sngs here. But where would 6 man sng fit?

Hello all, just a quick question regarding my Net Adjusted.

Does the percentage of rake paid for each SNG have any affect on the Net Adjusted statistic?

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

Yes. Net Adjusted Winnings is an adjustment to your Net Winnings (profit), which is affected by rake paid (profit = prize won - (buyin + fee)).

Can anyone explain how the Net Adjusted statistic can result in a higher loss than my initial buy-in amount?

e.g.
In this example my finish was 3/6 in a $1.50 6 man hyper,
Net won -$1.50 / Net Adjusted -$4.31

Thanks

Nathan

As one example of how this can happen, you could repeatedly chip up by getting lucky while all-in with dominated hands, but keep losing all those chips without being all-in. The program keeps tacking on a negative adjustment for the all-in hands you win.

I see, I understand it now. So I now understand it would work the opposite way with a situation such as being 3 handed with equal stacks on the bubble. I move all-in with AA, versus two villains both with KK and I end up losing to a 9-K straight. I think my equity in the tourney prize is over 95% here pre flop when the hands are shown.. So it would show something like; Net won -$1.50 / Net Adjusted +$4.05

That's the correct idea--you could have Net Adjusted actually be more than the 1st-place prize under certain circumstances.

Nice one, cheers for that. I am glad I understand that now, as my net adjusted is going in completely the wrong direction so I need to take a serious look at my game if I am going to be able to move out of the 1.50s. So far I have only covered just over 1100 tourneys since starting the hypers 2 weeks ago, which I know is a small sample. But I would still expect the net adjusted line to be showing more positive signs at such a low stake.

Anyone ever faced the problem that AHK mark hand script wasn't able to find a database? Posted this in the respective thread, but even after a long discussion with good help I couldn't manage to solve the problem. Everything appears to be setup correctly, yet the script claims the respective databases do not exist. Tried every combination of HEM1/HEM2, postgres8.x/9.x, created new databases, changed folders, names, ran everything as admin,...
Only possible thing I have in mind is to format hard drives and reinstall everything, but this'd be a lot of work.

I would give it at least 5 or 10k games before I put much stock in net adjusted for these games. Even then, it can still be off a few percent, which is obviously very significant in 6m hypers. That said, it's always a good idea to be looking at your game, especially before you have satisfactory results over a very large sample.

Bummer. I just started using this a couple days ago and it seems to work for me. (postgres 9.0, HM2, Win 8, all poker software installed in my own directory, including postgres.)

Best guess is my PC is some religious extremist, telling me things don't exist that confirmed do.
Maybe someone can help to illuminate him =/

Thanks for that. I'll just keep learning as I am doing and focussing on volume for now then.

Just another question about important HUD statistics in these games. At the moment the stats I have visible are;

BB's / VPIP / PFR / No. of Hands
Att. 2 Steal / Fold 2 Steal / PF Limp to Fold / Call PF Raise

Just wandering if anybody could suggest any other important stats which may be vital to quick decision making on the tables in 6-man hypers?

Thanks

Nathan

Hi guys,

starting to play HT 6max.
I am a winning player at HT HU 7$.

I would like to know a couple of things:

- best reading/video site (for HU we have husng.com that is terrific)
- hud stats? I use HEM2. Is there any free available hud, which is well suited for these? Otherwise which stats would you recommend to have?
- other software for studying? I understand people use SNGwiz, would you recommend that? How is this useful?

Thanks in advance.

When I was recently looking for this same advice, I found ICMIZER to be the best option according to most.

Any tips on how to review your heads up game for 6 man Hyper Turbo's, so that I can find leaks which may be losing me money as my 2nd place finishes are almost double my 1st places? From what I have read, ICM seems to go out the window here unless I am incorrect.

Yeah, you can absolutely ignore ICM when heads-up.

how many tables does 6max hyperregs play at max? & on avg?
I used to play mttsng's upto 30-35 tables but can't go higher then 12 on 6max hypers

It varies a lot among regs. No idea what the max or average are. Some play 20+, and a lot are around 10-16 as far as I know. Generally people play somewhat fewer tables than regular or even turbo speed games because the deal is quicker, time banks are smaller, you start out short, and the blinds go up quick.

Question about T$. For ****s and giggles I played 3 $3.75 6max Hyper Turbos for the Sunday Storm. Cashed 2 of them. I've unregistered for the Storm, my T$ balance shows $18.25. Should it not be $22??? I've never dealt with T$ so I may be missing something...
Thanks in advance.

Maybe I figured this out. If I have T$ in my account, and I keep playing SNG's, does pokerstars use up the T$ first??? That would make sense.....
