Second hand in 6max DoN. Villain is an unknown. Call the river shove without a read? Play the hand differently otherwise?

iPoker - $2.00+$0.40|<> NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 1,500 (VPIP: 50.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
BTN: 1,490 (VPIP: 9.40, PFR: 7.75, 3Bet Preflop: 2.56, Hands: 152)
SB: 1,480 (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
BB: 1,480 (VPIP: 27.45, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 52)
UTG: 1,550 (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 50.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
Hero (MP): 1,500

SB posts SB 10, BB posts BB 20

Pre Flop: (pot: 30) Hero has A K

UTG calls 20, Hero raises to 50, CO calls 50, fold, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (150, 2 players) 6 4 8 Hero checks, CO bets 75, Hero calls 75

Turn%s: (300, 2 players) K Hero checks, CO bets 150, Hero calls 150

River%s: (600, 2 players) K Hero bets 300, CO raises to 1,225 and is all-in, Hero?

Assuming I calculated it right.. (#of games * 500 * .055) where 500 is the starting stack and 5.5% rake, then I get 124,625 chips in rake. So that would be roughly 95000 chipev profit?

Yup. That could explain most of it.

But 95000 chips is 190 buyins, when if you look at the other graph, I'm only up about 25-30ev buy ins at my stake. Am I missing something with that discrepancy?

If you lose 500 chips on the bubble did you lose 1BI $EV or a diff amount? Same question but HU? Can you figure out the value of either without knowing our stack size?

Regrets, you have to know your own stacksize plus all other stacks, since the value of a single chip in your stack changes changes with different stacksize setups. Obviously single chips are most worth if you are the shorty and at least worth beeing chipleader. So the value of 500 chips depends completely on the situation and the stacksize of the player who lost them.

Heads up all chips are worth the difference in payout between 1st and 2nd. A ninth of it is the value of 500 chips. So at a $15 hyper 500 chips are worth (64.76 - 38.85)/9 = $2.87 during heads up.

I hope i understood your question right, since this is pretty basic stuff.

Yeah I was trying to provoke throught from am_man to lead him to the answer to his questions. Totally agree with your post. I think we can assume 500 chips lost on the bubble is on average >1BI.

Correct, 500 chips HU is way less than 1 BI.

Good day gent's
MP3 I'd already seen him/her call down with mid pair no kicker, Ace high etc. So I'm not terribly worried about the shove. BB however after 50-ish hands is 8/6 or so. I'm also very tight early going so if he/she is paying attention will know my open range from that spot is gonna be tight. When BB just flats, should that have sent off warning bells or was I correct to shove.

Thanks

Beginner question here. I mainly play heads up sng's. I'm looking to get into 6man sng's. I have no experience of 6max cash (or any cash for that matter, I started my poker playing husng's). I have a DC subscription. Are there any recommended videos for 6man sng's??

I'm a frequent player of 6-max SNGs but recently I've been coming 3rd a lot (4 of last 5 times). The top two pay out.

Can I please have some general tactics as to how to play on the bubble?

Got a question for people who keep records, what % of your cashes are first place in 9 man sngs. Looking for a goal to shoot for

Learn ICM and try not to get to the bubble with the smallest stack.

You can't aim for a specific placement %.
Someone gives you a number, so what can happen? You're either below it and try to improve (well, that's what you wanna do anyway) or you're above it and, yeah, what then? Try to suck? -.-

A goal to shoot for is improving your game by studying and maximizing your $/h or sth., the finish distribution itself is irrelevant.
You can draw some conclusions from it though.

Are you more often 2nd than 1st over a significant sample? --> Might profit from improving HU play.
Are you busting on the bubble a lot? --> Check if you're making bad calls or shoves with an ICM program of your choice
    etc.

I just would like to know what people with sample sizes have, my number (46% W when cashing) over a really small sample (250 turbo 9man sngs) seems unsustainable but i have no basis to judge it really, i am curious what others have achieved.

Also i disagree that the distribution is irrelevant, i think it is probably the most relevant piece of most players roi

Just put 250 sample size in the program 'roi simulator' and it goes all over the place. Typically for hypers roi simulator suggests ~150bi when most people realistically think 250bi is better... I don't think you will learn anything but how well you ran over your 250 games but feel free to prove me wrong with math.

Mike clearly misread your post =p I have 39% for 29k games ($19abi 9% roi), but by all means try to keep up the 46%

Sorry, but aiming for a specific distribution is the worst idea ever. You really can't do this, how do you plan on using that information to improve? Oh look spacegravy has X% 1st places therefore I totally guess he must do X and Y to get that percentage. All you would be doing is grasping at straws. Not only that, but most winning distribution end up being ~relatively similar so you're really not aiming for anything anyway.

    Good poker goals to have
    1. Play every single hand to the best of your ability (results will come with, never focus on your $ results or some bull**** like your redline you're just wasting time and energy)
    2. Strive to be constantly improving

Thanks, 39 seems much more reasonable. Your first goal to have is basically my main goal, haven't played STTs in years so just trying to get in some volume and improve my game all around. Got some serious troubles pre bubble but i play shorthanded fairly well.

    For your peace of mind:
    9mans, 8.3k sample, abi ~19$, ~9% roi
    ~ 39% ITM
    1. ~14%
    2. ~11%
    3. ~14%
