No one on earth annoys me more than Chris Collinsworth.

I haven't watched for years, but I always liked Bill Walton.

Do/did people like Joe Morgan? I think I've heard people say negative things about him, but he's awesome. Better than Bill Walton, but similar in that it takes knowing what your talking about to a higher level than most commentators.

I went to a little tribute to Pete Seeger tonight and one of the singers was Janice from friends (that's the kind of thing that happens when you live in LA). Not the Janice voice.

Chris Berman WOAT with Digger Phelps getting an honorable mention for that matching tie to highlighter shtick.

Hmmm, Collinsworth voice tone sounds smug as ****, but is the best NFL game analyst by miles IMO. Yet a lot if people feel the same ( tilting to just listen to). Joe Buck is probably a close 2nd in the tilt-people category.

Berman jumped the shark years ago, but the (near) live recaps on Primetime a decade+ ago were pretty epic as far as capturing the passion and emotion of an NFL Sunday.

You win.

My post wasn't too clear though. Semi-celebrity at a big concert wouldn't be a surprise. This "concert" was just in someone's back yard.

Isn't Jimmy V the coach who died of cancer and gave that incredibly moving speech like a month before he died?

Dicky V is the worst, imo. He doesn't add commentary he just yells
02-16-2014 , 08:35 PM
I meant Dick Vitale originally, but decided to go with Jimmy just to see how it all worked out here in this thread.

Personally? I think that Vitale is the Howard Cosell of this era. That's not a compliment.

Walton is the grown-big version of Alice Cooper in High School. Dude.

I've watched "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" on HBO a couple days ago and now this ****ing song is still stuck in my head. HELP!

They aired Fallen on a Dutch channel this weekend and that always leads to the same effect with this song:

Who goes to netflix, decides not to watch a movie because 2 hours is too long, but then watches like 5 episodes of an hour long tv show?
02-18-2014 , 11:54 AM
TV shows are like a bag of chips and movies are like vegetables.

Agree. TV show selection is acceptable but I think they show the 'cable tv version' of them and not the unedited/full versions. This basically means that awesome/important lines and scenes are left out of shows that you're paying for. The concept kind of tilts me, but I still use it all the time

It will involve relocating within the country, but that should not be an issue.

True. Please watch The Intouchables.

I have not owned cable TV for 5 years. I canceled Netflix 3 years back.

Honestly the internet has everything regarding that form of entertainment. Current television cable is severely outdated.

Netflix is pretty awesome for 2-3 months then gets old quick. Gotta give them some credit for introducing me to Yojimbo and other Kurosowa films. FWIW sitcoms 99% totally uninteresting to me.

VPN through other countries served by Netflix for some alternate content. (Unlocator, Hola plugin, etc).

+1 to Intouchables. Really enjoyed it.

Netflix is worth it for their documentaries alone. Also what else are you spending 8 dollars a month on that you get more value out of?

my 14yo daughter just learned the hard way what "formatting memory" on her phone means. is this as funny as i think it is or am i a really bad dad?
02-19-2014 , 12:15 AM
I think it's funny. But I'm not a dad. She's probably devastated though.
