If the carrier is having latency and with tournaments there is a lot of info going backwards and forwards. With the latency they are experiencing this will result in packets of data getting lost which in turn will affect your connection to tournaments and to the site.
With just browsing the web its just you receiving data so it doesnt really get affected.
I really hope this helps and you can understand
Yea, I understand what you're saying, and I'm not IT person either... but I've also been able to connect to a mass multiplier game server (which I tested during this issue) and had no lag issues. So, on my end, I was able to send and receive large amounts of data with no issues outside of the tournaments. That's what makes me nervous. It very much feels like there's no way it can be an issue with the internet on my end, but that's what I'm being told.
At the end of the day, the $30 in entries I ended up losing isn't going to be a dealbreaker for me. I'm just apprehensive about this happening again. I'm typically 4-6 tabling JPs and losing 100% of my equity in the occasional full set will kill my thin edge in these.
