I'm trying to make sense of the downdetector site... for the company Level3 it's been showing widespread issues in my region. For ATT, almost nothing. Same for the other site that was posted.... ATT not showing any issues. Am I looking at this wrong?

So is this a yes? You do have ATT?

This goes true for bovada and a lot of these poker sites that are a bit.... temperamental; These networks require more stability than they should. If your ATT is acting up than ACR will be more effected than other programs because ACR has lag and stability issues down to the core. I'm not trying to hate on ACR here, its just the nature of things. In the past I've had to change my entire computer out because for some reason intertops ran like absolute hot garbage on it even though every other program was just fine.

Its not just black and white, if your internet connection or computer are having issues than the issues that you never notice on ACR are going to happen. If ACR or Ignition are running at their best, its still best to be plugged in via Ethernet cord, limit extra processes and be on a decent machine.

TL;DR: The poker sites I'm familiar with (ACR and Ignition) are picky jerks that require more than they should and issues on our ends seem to magnify issues on them.

Yea, I've played over 3k tournaments since the end of September on ACR on the same machine with the same internet connection and haven't run into any lag problems until this weekend.

Tournament closed and received ICM chop (I assume that's what I received anyway, balance went up and seemed like a decent ICM chop).

So can anyone tell me what I'm looking for to indicate that I won't have problems playing?
11-15-2016 , 12:40 PM
Update from problems this early morning? Everything running fine? I played last night and was connected ok, guess I got offline before the problems came back. Crazy thing is the At&t guy who came out and hooked me up noticed I had charter before and warned me i was going to hate their internet compared to charter smh.

I cannot cancel everytime some players are affected due to their ISP.

I do what is right and fair. Obviously in your eyes if your affected it may not seem like it and i get it but there isnt much i can do.
If only SOME players are affected, isn't that more reason to shut it down?

The first time one player in a tournament is dealing with lag while another in the same tournament isn't, it's no longer a level playing field. On the other hand, if a tournament completely goes down for 10 minutes, then starts back up, no one has an unfair advantage.

Early morning was a completely different issue which is being investigated. All tournaments were refunded as per T & C's.

Poker Clif.. I dont want to sound bad here but let me just give you this example.

If we are playing on the same table and my internet is bad in costa rica. Yours is just fine. Should i pause the tournament because of that as its an unfair playing field?

You have to be realistic here. If its under 5% of the site and it seems all coming from the East coast. It is not necessarily the sites fault right? The one person explained it very well and alot better than i could regarding the routing issue.

From what I hear the downtime this morning was on acr side and was refunded and icm chopped properly, good job TD. ty for just being here in the forum.

Hopefully the isp problems with at&t is over with also today.

I played in the $10K and was knocked out before late reg ended. Had no connection issues up to that point.

I actually like hearing that my money is being chopped up to the players who cashed up to that point. That's the way it should be.
