That said,

We may be getting slightly away from entrance themes at this point.

Hot take: The Drew McIntyre Broken Dreams theme is tremendously overrated. It's not even good.

I have nothing against the actual song, or even Shaman's Harvest in general (though their cover of Dirty Diana is an abomination). But it sucks as an entrance theme for a wrestler.

His new theme is much better.

Not that hot of a take. If a theme is that ****ing great and the wrestler is using it while he's getting pushed hard, the push wouldn't fall flat even if the wrestler wasn't that interesting otherwise. That's how much I think a theme can do. He's just as well to leave it in the past even though it's a good song. It's not like it would get some big nostalgia pop; crowds would mostly not remember it.

It's so much better than generic bagpipe entrance theme #2 tho.

On bringing back the “Broken Dreams” theme for WrestleMania: “I keep seeing the “Broken Dreams” thing every day for years I’ve seen this on social media and people ask me on the street, it’s just, it doesn’t work for my character now, I love the song too, but it’s a little too slow, and the lyrics kind of match my story, so that’s very interesting, so I think WrestleMania would be a really cool place for it. And it would be cool that the crowd would probably know the words since I assume everybody knows every single word because you tweet me so often about it, so yes, “Broken Dreams” at ‘Mania would be awesome.”

Going to watch tonight to see what is more fkn embarrassing, My employer The Toronto Maple Leafs or WWE Raw!

Sadly I joked with the Tannenbaum's like a year ago when they came through that they can pay me the league minimum to play back up goalie and I am also 42 years old and yet here we are a 42-year-old employee playing, lol.

I saw one sequence tonight:

Rowan powerbombed Black into the ring post from the outside. The next move hit was a black mass x 2 for the win after Rowan took 7 seconds to get him in the ring and reset the cage he brings to the ring. I turned it off.

They really have to stop this "extremely brutal move oh my god! oh wait never mind he just hit his own finisher instead for the win" thing they've been doing a ton lately.

Prior to that, Black had been viciously assaulted by the Club in the back. They showed him staggering backstage and yet nobody attempted to check on him. He stumbled to the ring and beat Rowan. So my question is: who cares wtf is in the cage at this point.

Crooked referee in the main event? Oh, it's Canada. Gotta do the screw the Canadian bit.

I want to see Shayna/Asuka after that contract signing. I mean, not really, because they'll never let Asuka get over to the level that she did in NXT, but...

Plz keep Asuka exactly like she is on the mic going forward - esp against Shayna down the road

Couple problems

1) I love Drew, but they don't need to do the sorta Kofi-build ripoff, where he's this underdog who has been around awhile and hasn't gotten his chance. He's been at his best when he's been an arrogant/sarcastic face playing to the crowd. I don't think the "I'm just grateful to have my chance" angle works as well with him.

2) This 6 woman elimination chamber build has been sorta pathetic. They can't simultaneously build to that and have Shayna being the only one Becky cares about. Makes it too obvious who is winning. Even if it was already likely she was winning, they could have done this better.

3) KO shouldn't be shilling for Edge. We get it he's Canadian and Edge isn't there. But that was just a waste. And Rollins needs to play the reveal that the ref ended up being a decipal better. Why act like he didn't know who he was? His "plan" is working, his following is growing. Own that.

4) How can they expect us to care about Rowan and the cage if he keeps losing? This was such a laughable loss. Black gets jumped before the match and still wins fairly easily? Enough already.

It's baffling they do that. He's getting over as this dude who actually has the charisma to get over with being this nonchalant big guy who ****s people up. He's already over. There's no need for the interview nonsense.

Eh I disagree- perhaps they're aware of how badly smug faces like Seth/Cena/Roman before he came back work out when they put the belt on them (they don't), so they're playing it safe by going the Kofi route

Wonder if we'll get a 3MB feud with him and Jinder soon!

The business was at it's peak when they had smug, bad ass faces (Austin/Rock/Taker, even Goldberg). Those guys were fine without having to sit down and do interviews that made them more "personable". I'd dare suggest that approach might be better than the second coming of Kofi Kingston.

Maybe I'm misreading this post, but I highly doubt that the WWE thinks back on Cena with the belt as something that didn't work out well.

Would hardly consider Austin/Rock/Taker as smug - they sold their opponents as threats, and the former 2 were funny when they wanted to be. I didn't watch WCW so don't know much about Goldberg outside of his actual matches, but I imagine he was smug, but at least impressive in a powerhouse way/had a different aura about him

Roman/Goldberg will be a fun 3-5 minute hoss fight at Mania. I think this was fine but am also completely over The Fiend and pretty much want the character to go away.

I don't think the Fiend was working out the way they intended either, but at least feed him to someone who could use the rub. The entire WWE is like a Finger Poker of Doom feeding ground for part-timers now. This is the second time the SD champ has been squashed in four months.

They're still basically feeding The Fiend to Roman, just in a more tangential way that (imo) will make for a much better Mania match/spectacle.
