It's 2019 pal, you get someone pregnant then after the first big **** up in the relationship you overcompensate by marrying.

Sorry I cheated on you, I know we have a 4 year old. I love you, marry me.

Divorce 2 years later.

If you're someone who wishes for the days of the attitude era to return, you can't really hate on the Rusev/Lashley angle. This has actual crowd heat and investment. If they just did a typical build to Rusev/Lashley it would be boring and nobody would care. I also think the performances by Lana and Rusev in the last segment were really good and believable even though it's obviously fiction. I don't hate it, idk.

I also really liked the Becky/Kairi match, even though seeing Kairi as a heel is very upsetting and wrong. I will naively cling to hope that the endgame is heel Asuka vs. face pirate Kairi at Mania.

I'm not sure anyone here's pining for the AE. I just want stories that make sense and stories that don't make me embarrassed to watch.

Lana/Rusev, Sin Cara/???, R-Truth, Street Profits, ending of Seth/Rowan all made me feel one or the other. As I mentioned during the show, I didn't even watch Ricochet/Drew because of the commentary.

Kairi/Becky, Seth/Rowan (until the end), and AJ/Humberto were all above average matches. The only thing that wasn't a match that I found remotely good was Kairi/Asuka turning on Paige and that wasn't great.

My favorite thing on the show:
Spoiler:
Viking Raiders squash

I am glad that after two weeks Kairi stopped wearing a shirt to wrestle. I know being a heel's a new thing but that was just weird.

I sort of accept that some segments aren't necessarily for me but still make sense to do. WWE wants to appeal to a broader audience and there are clearly people who enjoy stuff like the Lana/Rusev/Lashley angle. If it was just dying in front of the crowd then sure, but the end was the loudest they were all night. I'm also in favor of the post-feud lay of the land where Lashley has Lana as a manager and Rusev can be pushed as a babyface without Lana's natural unlikability dragging him down.

I feel stuff like this is never the issue, just an easy route for fans to **** on*. The issue is so much is poorly booked and crap that it's hard to give WWE credit for one of the very few things they do well. I missed teh first 40 mins today as I forgot about the time change, tried to get back into it and honestly couldn't care less about everything going on. Reading this thread just made me more apathetic.

*The fanbase really cracks me up, I don't like that heel they make me mad... The issue is so much more when people start going what good heel work. I approve.

I just watched it on youtube and the best thing about that segment for me was Rusev wearing a pair of Nike Drop-Type LX Summit Whites with a suit. I wore the same shoes yesterday but I was just wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Apart from that, this angle doesn't interest me and I really don't like it. If it gets Rusev over than that's great because he's been one of my favourites for a long time but he could have gotten over without this trashy stuff. Lashley is also terrible at everything apart from being muscly.

Isn't Lashley basically like a bigger/meaner Appolo Crews?
About same (lack of) charisma?

All Rusev has to say is "Lana - he'll desert you just like he did the military"

(no one will ever top Sami accusing him of false valor, that was gold)

I first thought they made this angle up for them because they had heat for being unhappy and all that. Well if you wanna be back on TV, Lana is going to be having an affair with Lashley. The whole Mike and Maria Kanelis angle is similar in that emasculation is being written into story lines. Well push and degrade you at the same time

Wow - is this the biggest title change on a non-significant show since This Tuesday in Texas?

Nice audible with Bazlor. Didn't think non-SD talent were allowed on SD though. Odd to have her attack the heels though.

Roster should get stranded somewhere every week. Quality show. DB vs Cole for the NXT title coming up for anyone not watching.

Strangely, a friend who I haven't had occasion to talk to in a couple of months actually texted me to alert me to DB vs. Cole. Alright, I'm in.

Was thinking the same thing. It's almost like they said "we can't deliver as advertised, how can we have a good show?" instead of mailing it in.

I know iso has been on this for a while, but it really is crazy what a bad-looking spot DB's suicide dive is when you consider that he basically doesn't ever do any other bad-looking spots.

Would have thought shenanigans to end this, but NXT basically cleanly dominated SD tonight.

I hate brand warfare storylines, but if you're going to do one, NXT as the insurgent brand actually is somewhat believable. I can sort of buy that they would put differences aside to try to "make an impact" or whatever.

Pat McAfee was a natural on heel commentary. I assume he has too much going on to do it full time.

For some reason, I had it in my head that McAfee was the "liquored up, idiot kicker" that Peyton Manning mentioned in an interview. Turns out, he was a liquored up idiot, but not the one that I remembered Peyton bashing. He just got drunk and took a swim in canal.

That was a really good episode of Smackdown, my only issue is HHH as the face of NXT when he's such a figure in WWE as a whole. I really hope that was the plan all along and there is some longer term booking and it wasn't a panic episode due to a lack of the people being there.
