A fair point.

I'm trying to decide if I need to abandon my life and take one for the team

I think if I could drive there I would do it but airports are just such a hassle these days.

The point is someone needs to get Jimmy Roberts off that gig for the good of humanity.

You guys are so unfortunate with your Olympic coverage. Nothing beats Ron Maclean and Scott Russell. David Amber is also pretty good, to tell the truth. If there is one thing the CBC does right, it's Olympic coverage.

I grew up near Canada and picked up their coverage via antenna as a kid. All I can really remember is a swimming event where the American broke the world record en route to the gold, and the announcers 100% no-sold it to scream on and on about the valiant Canadian comeback to win the bronze. I was confused as to whether I was even right that the American had done what he did.

Well, obviously there is still some home country bias, but out of the few Olympic coverages I've seen, CBC does the best at highlighting the other countries competitors. Hell, even all of their lead-up promos and bits were mostly about the big stories that weren't Canadian.

It's really refreshing.

The only negative thing is we don't get Steve Armitage calling the swimming this year as he had to stay home due to health issues, but he is the best in the world at calling swimming. I will never forget his call of the Australians overtaking the Americans in the men's 4x100m relay in Sydney. Just amazing. I can't find a video of his call, but it was great.

Ron MacLean is definitely great, by the way. Haven't really seen him on Olympics coverage lately if ever, but it's easy to take you at your word on his work.

Also FWIW I think it's absolutely fine for home country's networks to homer. Completely expected. But it does help leave me non-jealous as a USA#1 fan.

That batter (Coghlan) has been one of the worst batters in baseball this year, so perhaps he needs to try and turn that into something he does on every pitch.

The Canadian Women's National Soccer Team is the pride of this nation and a treat to watch. That is all.

What a game. Can't wait for the Swedes to win it all though

Well, it's actually kind of a wrestling tradition to do something like that. The Canadian who won gold did it as well (the shoulder carry), and a couple others have. Still awesome every time I see it, though.

I posted in the video games forum but I'll shill here as well.

I made a game and it came out today and you should all go play it.

For some reason, after following that link, the "view in iTunes" button just sends me to an iTunes download page even though I already have it.

I go into my app store on my phone and find One More Line and One More Dash by the same company, but not One More Jump. Maybe just a delay in showing up in the search engine? I'd give this game a shot even though I mostly devote my phone game-playing to pointless world-building games.

EDIT: ah never mind, I was able to find it in iTunes manually.

Yeah we submitted right before posting that, the app store is weird and takes around 24 hours for it to be completely in the system. We're having a few headaches with some things.

We had nothing to do with Line or Dash, we're just 2 guys and they basically saw our game and offered to publish it with their branding, it was a great deal for us so we took it. It's definitely not for everyone. It's supposed ramp up in difficulty fairly quickly and can be frustrating if it's not your type of game. Thanks for checking it out though.

The ramp-up in difficulty is definitely stark, it went from overly easy to pretty damn hard quickly. I do like it though.

Dont have an iphone so cant try it, but what is the business model? Is it released for free hoping for future business, or is there some type of pay for (blank) structure in place?

Thanks. Yeah the difficulty can get pretty rough. Trying to fit so much content to try and cater to a wide variety is tough.

Ruthless aggression with ads and an option to pay $3 to turn the ads off. This is our first mobile game and the guys publishing us have been fairly successful with their past releases so we basically just let them handle the monetization while we handled 95% of the design. I don't like ads but unless you're someone major, it's very hard to make money with a premium only model. We thought about selling level packs and stuff like that but we'd rather just get the content in as many hands as possible and give them the option.

We release on Android in (hopefully)2 weeks.

I really like the game. There is a big with the Lyft ad. There is no way to close it out after it ends to go back to the game. If I hit the x, nothing happens and the ad stays. I've had to manually close the app and restart to start playing again
