They are probably NXT marks and Rusev marks and being impacted by something similar to the Yelp effect, where something that they are fan(atics) of can do no wrong. Few people are willing to be objective, and fewer still are able.

So they will give him a huge payday just to bury him? How does that make sense?

Lawler apparently said on Smackdown that Rollins will wrestle Sting first. I'd check if this was true, but that would require listening to Jerry Lawler.

New Japan sometimes has had the Intercontinental title matches main event over the world title matches over the past few years, and the general consensus is that the IC title is greatly elevated over where it was several years ago in that company.
Wrestling- NVG (SPOILERS inside view at your own risk) Quote

That happened one time (Wrestle Kingdom 8) and it happened because they let the fans vote on which match should main event the show. The IC belt was just created 3 years ago in NJPW.

The belt was created 4 years ago, but was a midcard belt for the first year or so and wasn't really treated as that important for the first year. It has main evented more shows than that, but I suppose on some of them they didn't have the world title defended at all.

Do you think it's a good idea to keep it on Nakamura and now Goto? It seems like some strong up and comers should go after it. I think Naito should get it because his overness seems to come and go but he may be above it already.

It depends on the long term plan, and generally I have faith in the bookers in New Japan; usually they have sensible long term plans, unlike WWE booking. In the long run up and comers are going to have to go after it.

According to F4WOnline.com, it’s likely that if WWE does plan to give John Cena another run with the WWE World Title, which would tie Ric Flair’s record of 16 title reigns, it won’t be until 2016.

Prior to WWE announcing Sting vs Seth Rollins for the WWE World Title at Night of Champions, there was speculation Cena might be challenging for the title at the PPV, given the way he lost his United States title at SummerSlam.

However, WWE’s goal as of several weeks ago, going back to before SummerSlam, was to keep Cena away from the WWE World Title and have it eventually go to Roman Reigns. Reigns would then face a number of challengers before Cena’s shot comes back around.
Wasn't Reigns/Cena rumored to headline 32 a while ago?

On SD they teased Reigns being upset with Ambrose for involving his family (Uso) in the feud with the Wyatts. Maybe Reigns heel turn after this to set up title run and match with Cena at WM that nobody wants as the main event. Although, I have less Reigns hate than I used to.

A kayfabe reason for this could be that Rollins considers the WWE title to be more important, so he wants to defend that title when he's fresh.

Infamous TNA storyline explained/revealed:

Quote:
-It was Eric Bischoff's idea for ninjas to kidnap Samoa Joe. Bischoff wanted
Spoiler:
Superfly Jimmy Snuka
to be the ringleader of the ninjas who kidnapped Samoa Joe, but couldn't get him so the story was scrapped. Samoa Joe has had heat with Russo since then for the idea, even though it was Bischoff's ideas. Russo said he thought the idea was awful.
Doesn't get any better than that.

If Snuka was involved we'd have never seen Joe again.

And how hard would it have been to get Snuka? Don't know if I'm buying that. They couldn't get anyone to replace Snuka?

According to Dave Meltzer, right now the plans are for Nikki to retain, due to backstage influence from John Cena.

However, they've gone back and forth on how they want the match to go down, but if Nikki wins, it will be due to Cena.

So if Nikki wins its because of Cena's influence, but if she doesnt it had nothing to do with it? DOesnt sound like he has that much influence on this matter

it's been rumored for a while now that Cena is the main reason Nikki has held the diva's title for so long.

She has held the title as long as she had because she never defends it and they want to troll AJ Lee

I thought it was to troll CM Punk indirectly. I am perfectly ok with trolling CM Punk. I want them to openly troll CM Punk fans.

I wonder if they'll let Rollins beat Punk's 434 days just to troll Punk. That's only June 2016.

Putting on my 'conspiracy guy' hat again... Does anyone get the impression that Bischoff deliberately tries to sabotage and run down companies he's involved with (along with his cohorts - i.e. Hogan), purely so he and his consortium can buy them out at a later date for pennies on the pound? He certainly made that play at WCW, and would have succeeded if it weren't for Vince swooping in at the eleventh hour. It wouldn't surprise me if he and Hogan were shooting the same angle during their TNA run.
