Pretty surprised no one from New Day is in it.

Yeah, you're probably right. Doesn't really matter, since neither one is beating Roman.

So Owens or Ambrose vs. Reigns. LOL Reigns wins.

Reigns wins in The Rock's role from Deadly Game is basically the best possible outcome and the bracket is set up for this to happen

In case you didn't know, Raw isn't live this week because WWE is in the UK. Here are the results, according to Reddit:

WWE Superstars:
  • Fandango defeated Bo Dallas. Everyone sang and danced the Fandango song.
  • The Dudley Boyz and Ryback defeated The Ascension and Stardust in a good back and forth match.
Raw:
  • The WWE title belt is placed on a table inside the ring. Triple H came out and explained the Seth Rollins injury and that the belt is now vacant and there will be a tournament to crown the new champion starting tonight. Roman Reigns comes out.
  • Roman Reigns came out and Triple H put the title on him, offering him the chance to be in The Authority. Reigns turns it down and will face Big Show in a tournament match.
  • Big Show vs Roman Reigns (Tournament). Roman Reigns wins.
  • Bray Wyatt comes out.
  • Kevin Owens vs Titus O'Neil (Tournament). Quick match with Kevin Owens picking up the win via the pop-up powerbomb.
  • Paige is interviewed on the titon-tron and receives a huge pop from the audience. Paige vs Becky Lynch is confirmed for tonight’s show.
  • Paige vs Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch WINS via pulling tights & roll-up. Paige locked on a PTO on the announce table and wouldn't let go, Charlotte came out to save, but Becky was stretchered off. Paige smirks off to the back high fiving her people.
  • Ziggler vs The Miz (Tournament). Ziggler picks up the win with a superkick to Miz.
  • Del Rio comes out with Zeb Colter. Zeb cuts a promo running down England and America. Del Rio will be facing Stardust later in the night in a WWE Title tournament match.
  • Natalya vs Naomi. Natalya wins via pinfall. Following the match Sasha Banks ran to the ring, but Natalya got a Sharpshooter on her ending this match segment. Tamina Snuka made the save and Sasha put the Banks Statement on Natalya until she tapped.
  • Barrett comes out and calls Manchester and then Rooney for a fight
  • Cesaro vs Sheamus(Tournament). Cesaro won. Sheamus had the upper hand throughout the match but Cesaro came back and got the audience behind him. The win came when Manchester United player Wayne Rooney (who was in attendance) causes a distraction punching Barrett and allowed Cesaro to take advantage of the distraction and pinned Sheamus for the 1..2..3!
NOTES:
  • The crowd chanted "Thank you Rollins." in the first segment
  • The crowd also chanted "boring", "you fat bastard" and "we are awesome" and mexican waves at... you guessed it, Big Show vs Reigns(Video[2] )
  • HUGE pop for Owens, Kill Owens Kill and "Let's go Rooney, Rooney Sucks" chants Paige also getting the same pops as Owens. Charlotte booed out of the building.
  • Miz comes out to no reaction then they go to a break. He's left in limbo on the ramp. New Day are super over also. Chants all over the place, in matches, between segments, everywhere. Ziggler super over, holds the title after the match.
  • "We want Sasha" chants. Natty sharpshoots Sasha, audience not happy. "TicketMaster sucks" sign in the audience. "Briefcase wanker" chants for Sheamus. Cesaro got a huge ovation from the audience and as expected Cesaro section was in attendance

NOTE that this show is still ongoing. Right now is the Tyler Breeze vs. Dean Ambrose match.

I assume this photo is from the HHH offering Roman the belt segment:

Cesaro winning is a nice surprise even if he's Reigns fodder next round.

Ambrose beat Breeze via roll-up.

Way to build up the new guy in his first match!

It hurts more on the table, you know.

Dar0, I seriously doubt they're going to mimic the 98 SS with Reigns in that slot. They don't view Ambrose as a top guy and he's the highest babyface if Reigns turns and Cena's gone. Beyond that, I just don't see Roman ever turning heel for the same reason Cena will never turn heel. I'd be more than happy to be wrong though to get the belt on a smug Roman and have HHH talk for him.

I agree that WWE would not turn Roman heel under normal circumstances (hence the rumors that Roman was going to beat Seth). But they might feel they have no choice since there are no top heels in the company right now.

Update:
  • Ric Flair comes out.
  • New.. DAY ROCKS vs Neville and The Usos. New Days wins. Neville goes for the Red Arrow but trips on the top rope, Kofi gets the advantage with a roll-up and gets the pin.

    Notes:
  • Undertaker announced for Smackdown. Ambrose and Breeze super over, NXT chants.
  • New Day came out to an explosive reaction from the audience. They seem to be the highlight of the show, to a point where they are more over than the face competitors.

In non-Raw news, WWE is not going to let Alberto Del Rio drop his AAA title. So, like TNA and WWE, the AAA title is held by Vacant.

He's headlined 5 PPVs in the past year. And rumors say he's second to Cena in merch sales.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Cena isn't injured. He's not gone forever. He's going to miss two PPVs and be back in January. Whoever wins the tourney only has to get through one Cena-less PPV. There are more top babyfaces if Roman turns heel: (Cena and Ambrose)

than there are heels if Roman stays babyface: Owens is pretty much the only heel who's being protected and he's probably not ready. ADR hasn't even been in the WWE for a month and is feuding with Jack Swagger, so it seems like he's not ready either. The New Day is protected but they are a tag team.

R-Truth headlined a ppv too. There have been a bunch of filler ppvs over the last decade. Ambrose hasn't headlined any of the big 4.

Trying to think of ball sides of the coin...this really just illustrates how they've built up no real stars outside of Cena and Rollins (kind of). Outside of Cena, there's no good top face. There's just no good top heel unless they let Steen loose as the top guy.

The reason Cena will never turn heel is because of merch stuff as well as the way they use him as the front man for Make a Wish. Are either of those particularly big things with Reigns?

Rumors are that Cena/UT is penciled in to headline WM, possibly with the title at stake.

Obviously no chance of this happening - and I'm skewed from listening to the Lapsed Fan 1992 Royal Rumble Podcast - but I think it would be cool if they title was vacant until the Royal Rumble and then the winner wins the title. Again, zero chance, but a guy can dream.

I liked how they said they were under the impression that it would be decided in the Rumble every year. It's a decent idea to reset the title at some point. I think maybe bringing Backlash back and resetting it after a good storyline would be alright.

Seems like an awful idea. That wouldn't headline though. Rock is obviously headlining in some way.
