Spoiler:

Carlos Colon
Carly/Carlito Colon

I admittedly know little about Carlos other than his heritage in PR as a top star. There was a time his son, Carlito, was considered to be one of the hottest wrestling prospects in the world. A career marred by laziness and a wellness violation derailed that, but he still has been around for a long time now and besides look how cool he is!

Freshman year of college my roommates and I loved buying apples in the cafeteria. No, not for the nutritional value of a piece of fruit over the usual Pizza Hut and Keystone Light. We bought apples everyday just to spit them at each other while uttering the phrase, "I spit in the face of people who don't want to be cool." Of course that was also back when "You Can't See Me" was considered hip as well, so that doesn't really say much.

Carlito was nearing the top of my draft board though, seems like a fine pick here.

Gene Kiniski ITT. I always have it in my mind that I'm the only one who even has him near a draft board.

I was 50/50 whether to take Kiniski or Taylor and thought Kiniski had a better chance of getting back to me.

Gene Kiniski used to regularly go on jogs by my home as an old man. It took until the internet was a thing for me to look him up and realize that my mom wasn't just bull****ting me about him being a former world champion in pro wrestling.

I've heard Kiniski was one of the first great mic workers in wrestling, "a great talker" who "could whip the fans up with his bragging, about how great an athlete he was" (undrafted promoter). He strikes me as the kind of guy who, if he got shot in the hand or leg, would just pull the bullet out with his teeth. I don't have any promos of him cutting promos in the ring but this interview is pretty entertaining:

I read a book on the history of Stampede Wrestling and there were a couple snippets about Kiniski in it. He would later run their closest competitor All Star Wrestling, but it was all positive. He may have been the first heel that was so good he became a face. He also had the reputation of making his opponents always look as great as they possibly could in the ring.

It all stays on the mat like the older stuff tends to, but I definitely consider this to be fairly watchable action considering its age:

Dory Funk, Jr. wins the title from Gene Kiniski

Candido and Furnas are both minor snipes for me.

Jay Lethal-I've always thought he was good on the mic and athletic but he's really improved as an all around worker since going to ROH. To have him in a federation with the legendary mic workers/wrestlers I have, especially Savage, seems to have potential.

Perro Aguayo- WON best babyface in 1995 and in the top 3 other times in the 90s. Lucha Libre legend. Wikipedia claims American pundits describe him as a cross between Terry Funk and Bruno Sammartino.
