That's why I said if I did this I had put Rey winning at 10. No one he loses. If he is hurt he can just join the SES for one night. Or it will be a no contest

Bret over Vince - 9 points
Cena over Batista - 8 points
ShowMiz over Morrison/Truth - 7 points
Orton over Legacy - 6 points
Rey over Punk - 5 points
Christian wins MITB - 4 points
Sheamus over HHH - 3 points
Jericho over Edge - 2 points
HBK over Undertaker - 1 point

Honestly, all I feel great about is my first three. Fully prepared to get brutalized on the rest.

Funnily enough i said exactly the same to Mike on MSN after i had sent my picks in that Rey could lose and then get the SES beatdown (basically what happened to Christian in MEM on TNA). Instead i flipped it to the safe side of Rey winning then the rematch at Backlash (or whatever it is called this year) Punk beats him massively in some kind of weapons based gimmick match like last man standing or no DQ or whatever. If i had considered that pick more id have given it less confidence points.

Bret 9
Cena 8
Taker 7
HHH 6
Rey 5
Orton 4
Christian 3
Miz and Show 2
Jericho 1

Christian is the safe pick for MITB but im sure Burdz is loving that Drew is a very very solid pick for MITB, lol. Orton i picked to go over because the Legacy breakup has been pretty failfest so they will just put over the face vet. Tbh that one is a gamble but i dont think the original plan of DiBiase going over will happen since he is coming out of it heel (unless something has changed), since all the feuds will continue to Backlash they can just do virtually the same match and have DiBiase go over there. Jericho i put over Edge for one point because i have zero confidence which way that will go, the card is uber face stacked and that is a good match to swerve the Smarks and if the plan is still to keep the feud going through to Summerslam there is plenty of time to swap the title and it follows the usual WWE format of the champ looking weak going into the title match equals the champ retaining.

Rest of the card is standard enough, ShowMiz jobbing to the quickly put together face team i cant see happening but you never know with Show reportedly needing surgery sometime soon hence the low confidence, HHH losing at Mania = lol never happening, Taker over Shawn should be easy money, Cena over Batista is ldo and the same with Bret though i expect some really funky booking on that.

I read the headlines for WNW Premium about the "reports" about Drew winning MITB and changed my pick to Christian last minute haha

Randy Orton 6
CM Punk 5

Christian 1

I originally had MoR-Truth winning the tag titles but decided that makes no sense. I also have no idea why HHH would build his little buddy up all year and then beat him at WM, Sheamus goes over there imo. I understand Cena/Botchy is the last match of the night so the face goes over there to send the crowd home happy. Edge/Jericho is a pickem, could make a case either way.

Also, Hart interferes in HBK's match to cost him his career?

If this took place 10 years ago and Hart could still wrestle, Hart screwing HBk out of his career would be unbelievably awesome, but don't see this happening now since they can't wrestle and start a feud over it.

Im still pretty certain Shawn will be back as a face GM later in the year and he will get one more match at Mania next year against HHH which he will win.

Here is my winning entry

Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon (Bret Hart -9)
Batista © vs. John Cena (Cena -8)
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (UT -7)
Money In The Bank Ladder Match (Drew McIntyre -6)
The Miz and The Big Show © vs. John Morrison and R-Truth (Miz and Show -5)
Chris Jericho © vs. Edge (Jericho -4)
HHH vs. Sheamus (Sheamus -3)
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio (CM Punk -2)
Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase (Orton -1)

- Bret Hart (9) - Bret's ego is just too big to come back to WWE and get beat at WM by a 60+ yr old non wrestler. Look for Bret to put the sharpshooter on Vinny Mac giving fans what they waited over 13 yrs for. I can see no deviation of the script here. A chasity belt lock of a pick.

- Cena (8) - I love Botchista as a heel but Botchy has already one win over Cena on their last meeting so no chance super Cena loses twice. Look for Cena to end WM and send the kiddies home happy.

- UT (7) - I struggled very hard with this. There's a big part of me that believes HBK will win this. I don't see anyone in the horizon that is ready to come up and break UT's streak. I believe that UT wouldn't mind losing the streak to someone like HBK who is a professional and that UT respects. I decided to play it safe and go with Taker but would not be shocked if HBK wins. I feel that some of the talk of him retiring could be a smokescreen.

- Drew Mcintyre MITB (6) I thought about Christian but I just don't see WWE being behind him as much as the fans think. I don't see Christian working a main event program anytime in the near future. I do however see it with Drew. Feel good about this pick

- MizShow (5) It would be a travesty if Morrison and Truth won the titles. Miz and show are great as a tagteam while Morrison and Truth have no chemistry whatsoever. I briefly thought that they could put the titles on these guys just because WWE likes to have title changes at WM, but these guys suck. If I never have to see Truth again with his stupid rap and cheap pops it would be too soon.

- Jericho (4) I don't see Edge winning this one as this feud still has plenty of legs. I had chosen Cena over Batista so I'm going with my gut that they won't change 2 world titles on the same show. Since Cena is a lock to win the title, Edge is odd man out. He's been a fail as a face and Jericho would make a better champion. Going with Y2J.

- Shaemus (3) Anyone who thinks HHH doesn't lose at WM is a dummy. The same people who thought HHH was a lock to win this year's Rumble, didn't happen. Then HHH was going to win elimination chamber, didn't happen. HHH gets a lot of unfair criticism for not jobbing when he's done plenty of jobs. HHH winning over Shaemus at WM would serve absolutely no purpose and him losing to Shaemus would not hurt him at all. Since they are friends, I can totally see HHH giving the rub to Shaemus.

- CM Punk (2) - I struggled with this one quite a bit. The safe bet is to take Rey but since I like to live life on the edge it's Punk. CM Punk has been awesome with his new gimmick and I see them propelling Punk once again to the very top. This is their first feud and they can have a run with this. The face isn't going over in their first match when there's so much they can still do. Rey being straight edge would be great and my titties are tingly with excitement just thinking about it. If Rey wins, it just wouldn't be the same. If Rey wants time off, Punk and ses can give him a beatdown and give themselves more heat. Punk and the ses is the best thing on WWE right now.

- Orton (1) - I had originally picked Dibiase but after looking at my picks I have too many heels. Since no one really cares about Legacy, I'll go with the safe pick in Orton.

Take these picks to the bank

Bret Hart (9)
Cena (8)
Mizshow (7)
CM Punk (6)
HBK (5)
Christian (4)
Jericho (3)
Shaemus (2)
Dibiase (1)

Hart, Cena for the zzzz everyone picked these b/c it's so obvious.

Mizshow b/c they are awesome (clearly) and even if Miz is getting a main eventing push soon, he can do it with tag belts. Doesn't make sense for him to drop the belts, and if he does he'll drop the US Champ belt first.

Punk b/c it makes most sense, Rey joining SES is a great fish out of water story and will lead to funny programming until he ultimately rises up Virgil-style and reclaims his honor.

HBK to win the pool basically. I think he's got a good chance of winning, as I doubt all of the top 3 matches are going to go as everyone thinks they are, and this is the most likely to go against public opinion.

if i made one, it would look something like this--
Bret(9)-ldo
Mizshow (8)- partially born out of my <3 for miz, partially out of my hate for whats up, partially because morrison/rtruth have had like 2 matches together as a team and it seems ******ed to gift them tag titles at this point when Morrison is prob getting a ME push soon, esp if Shawn is retiring and others are taking time off.
Cena (7)-if this is confirmed the final match then make it (9) for reasons stated above re: crowd being happy.
UT (6)- entirely HBK-retirement rumors based. UT's streak puts me over the top. I could see HBK winning and retiring though (and hope that happens).
X-tian (5)- x-tian, kofi and drew all seem like good choices for this, but it doesn't really make sense for drew to be MitB and IC champ at the same time. Kofi had a bit of a push a few months ago but that died bigtime. nobody else really makes sense. Plus I think having MitB winner as a face is just kind of the way they do it as far as i remember.
HHH (4)- having Sheamus lose is probably bad, but I think having HHH lose is worse. I think they'll make it look good, HHH prob wins by DQ.
Edge (3)- could go either way, Edge in a cointoss merely for stupid made up stats that the wwe has (OMG 9 of the last 10 royal rumble winners have gone on to win the belt at mania!!! or something stupid like that). also sets up a christian/edge feud for later on when christian wins MitB and heels out vs. face Edge.
Rey (2)- I just don't see him jobbing, but CM can def win dirty. I pick Rey to win for the same reasons everyone here has decided that a Cena heel turn won't happen-- people will kind of hate Rey for being in SES, even if he doesn't want to be there, and it will hurt merch sales. purely speculative obv, and they could definitely make it work to have face rey in heel SES.
Cody (1)- simply for a teddy vs cody storyline, but mostly to be different. I think it's certainly a plausible way to go, though one or the other would have to be buried at the end which would stink.

9 pts: Bret Hart
A lock.

8. Batista
New gimmick is well-received and would benefit from a push. I knew this would set me apart from the pool too so hopefully I bink this.

7. CM Punk
Why tease us with something as awesome as Rey joining SES if it aint gonna happen?

6. Orton
The other two aren't ready.

5. HHH
Originally had Sheamus as I think HHH is ready to step aside...but lol...it's HHH.

4. Show/Miz
Should've made this higher. No way they lose imo.

3. Edge
Ugh I wanna switch to Jericho....I think the feud's gonna last longer.

2. HBK
I think this was planned out before the first match even started. Taker takes the 1st match, HBK takes the 2nd. If so many rumors didn't say otherwise, I'd have this a lot higher.

1. Drew Mcintyre
I'm hoping Shelton takes this since he deserves a shot imo but Drew is the safe pick.

Lol at everyone picking Drew or Christian except Mike who pulled Swagger. As i said on MSN if he gets that right he looks like a true genius

Im shocked ShowMiz was so overwhelmingly chosen. Also there is gonna be an amazing amount of shock if Cody goes over on Sunday.

I also thought i would be one of the few to pick Jericho to go over so its surprising to see how many agreed with that idea.

ehafner taking Batista with 8 confidence points behind it...wow.

I'm going to need HBK to beat Taker to have a good shot at it. Too many people throwing big points behind Taker for me to be to be able to win outright if he continues the streak.

I am shocked Im the only guy picking Morr-Truth. Isn't it widely known that Show is in desperate need of surgery + rest? Short of them retaining and losing on Raw I dont know how else they're gonna break up the team quick enough to achieve that.

This cofidence point wagering thing is really interesting, can really throw a wrench into everyone's plans if certain matches don't go right. There's a good chance that one or more of HBk, Batista, or Vince will win. Wrestling cards rarely ever go the way that we originally thought.

Here's Lance Storm's WM picks. For someone who's been in WWE for years and was around creative a lot his past WM predictions are at an overall average of 55% correct.
