Well at this point I'm guessing it's going to be Team Punk vs. Team HHH at Survivor Series, so Punk has to fight either HHH or Nash at the next 3 PPV's unfortunately.

I think my biggest problem with the Punk vs. HHH feud is that they're almost acknowledging while in kayfabe that the matches are scripted. Punk's whining doesn't have as much of a "Why can't I get shots at the WWE title" feel to it and more of a "Why am I not going over as much as I should be?" feel.

Nash failed his medical so if he is wrestling he will need protecting like they did with Bret, so we can count out a singles match vs Punk at this point it seems.

Punk and HHH due to Nashterference goes to no contest and its team Nash vs team HHH at survivor series probably with neither wrestling imo.

Forgot about Nash's failed Medical. I really don't know what they do with Punk between NoC and Survivor Series then. I guess they could do some Triple Threat ADR vs. Cena vs. Punk and have HHH screw Punk over at Vengeance or something like that.

I think the key is where they are going at WM. Personally i think they are going Punk with HHH in his corner, vs ADR with Nash in his corner, meaning they need to continue the Nash knocks down HHH breakup of the clique, maybe throwing in a HBK cameo, have Punk go over at the Rumble to challenge ADR who holds till March. They can just have the big reveal being that Nash never got a text at all nd have ADR hire him to be in his corner at WM. Or the Anon GM sent the text (which i love the concept of) and then reveal the anon GM to somehow hook into the story.

Vince sent the text, he doesn't want Punk as his champ because of him leaving with the title and he's pissed at Cena for losing to Punk at MITB. So Vince wanted ADR to go over whoever won, setting up a Vince/HHH fued for control of the company.

I think that's pretty likely.

That could totally happen; it really all depends on how reliable the intelligence is that Vince wants to stay off-screen. Then again, even if it was reliable then, he may just not be able to resist coming back on.

We can argue and disagree on the product all we want, but I think it's 100% evident that we are unanimous in one thing: WWE's production department is by far the Best in the World© at creating those promo videos.

They are just fantastic.

Vince could just come back for one epic pop + reveal though, he wouldn't have to bring back the character full time, and he is probably backstage for every show still anyway and can instantly draw whatever reaction is needed. Might as well use him for the run up to WM. He is still a part of the story line imo even if he was written off TV.

I usually agree with IRM but I think it is impossible to apply Occam's Razor to WWE Creative due to them winging it and having zero sense of continuity internally between story lines and match booking.

Their promos are the best in the world and not close. In fact, I hadn't watched wrestling in many years and got back into it after I saw a promo online for a match that happened 6 months before:

My favorite promo ever (running up that hill ):

"I was No. 34 of WWE all-time greatest?" Angle asked. "Tell you what, take me off the list. I'd rather not be on it if I wasn't top five. Who ranks wrestlers?"
This is the list of greatest 50 WWE superstars all time for a DVD that's coming out. Some fun ones off the list available here. In parentheses is how I'd rate these ten amongst themselves. Giving credit for non-WWE work because the list includes guys that retired before the WWE existed.

11. Eddie Guerrero (5)
12. Triple H (4)
15. Curt Hennig (7)
16. John Cena (3)
19. Edge (8)
20. Jerry Lawler (6)
23. Hulk Hogan (1)
27. Fabulous Moolah (10)
29. Randy Orton (9)
34. Kurt Angle (2)

I remember this because it's one of my favorite build promos to a match ever despite hating Limp Bizkit.

I loled when i read about Angle's placement on the list. Taz was tweeting about beating him iirc.

Just rewatched the Orton vs Dolph match. Holy **** was that epic, PPV quality match between two guys legitimately believable as champs and built the US title because of it. Orton sometimes struggles to get good matches as he requires the other guy to be top notch and know how to sell and do innovative stuff, for instance i thought the matches with Cena were mediocre but his billion matches with Christian and that one with Dolph was A+.

They need to move Dolph up to the main events imo, he is very ready, however i guess being on Raw limits his opportunities before WM when they wipe the slates clean and move the rosters around.

Agreed. I can honestly say words cannot describe how brilliant this is.

Lots of love for video production and deservedly so. When I was a kid I was a huge fan of not just the match buildup promos but the start of the PPV promos as well. My favorite of all time is Summerslam 1997 ("if life were fair") which is so so awesome. Lots of great stuff from 1997-1998. ("I'm damn sick and tired...") What are some of the other great ones you guys remember?

Do you guys think we'll see a Taker comeback from Survivor Series - Mania this year or is he just going to do a once a year thing now at Mania? I'm curious. F me that promo is brilliant though, I think it's hard to top that buildup and the emotion of those matches, etc for a while.

Orton vs Ziggler was lots of fun, I loved the bounce off the mat spot at the end for the RKO, really well done. I think Ziggler is ready but I'm afraid they won't elevate him and he'll be upper midcard/midcard for life. Also I've always hated the name Dolph Ziggler.

RE: Angle on the list, hopefully nboody hacks his Twitter and says mean things.

Angle was/is great and there's no way he should be #34 on that list but he shouldn't be #2 either.

Mid to late top 10 would be more realistic.

Love the Miz one too. I'm trying to recall exactly which it is, I remember catching up on matches I missed when I first started watching again and actually getting chills from one but I cant recall which.
