I was hoping Cena would fall to me, I still have a plan of what I want to do but it's gonna be a little harder. I PMed Dar0.

I thought there was a good chance of Cena falling to me in 12th given how the last draft went. Even happier I traded up now.

Part of the reason I went with Hart over Cena and half a dozen others is that I have no doubt that Bret can be the face of the company. I'm not sure I can say the same about some of the obvious undrafteds.

You're not sure Cena can be the face of a company?

To be fair, I haven't watched much wrestling over the last 10 years. Of the "modern" guys, Cena and undrafted are easily my two favorites and I'm confident that they could be the top 1 or 2 draws for the company. So I guess Cena is right up there.

I think Cena's problems on the mic are similar to Bret's but I give Bret a huge bump in wrestling ability. Of course (and you mentioned this) a lot of Cena's shrotcomings on the mic are a product of the PG era we're in today. I'm sure Cena would've loved to get on the mic in 1998.

Interestingly, I thought Cena might fall to be at 15... but I don't think he's a reach here either. Still lots of good picks here. I think there's a steep dropoff after the next 6 picks or so.

Even as someone who far prefers Bret, Cena's mic talent so far surpasses Bret that it isn't even a conversation IMO. But yeah he's been saddled down with tons of bad writing/material.

Cena was who i was talking about.

He is the most over wrestler ever with kids, draws in a demographic that is hugely profitable, is the perfect front face of the company who doesnt have multiple ex wives or go around getting in bar fights and ****, he has a really legit look that can be paired with an ever so slightly tweaked gimmick to do exactly what Hogan did in his day and above it all he is hugely respected in the lockerroom and isnt a guy who went behind people's backs to squash their pushes in the way that Hogan did.

He draws longer than Rock and Stone Cold. He talks better than Bret or HBK. He has the perfect lifestyle away from the ring including being the most popular make a wish celeb ever. Edit, oh and i forgot he has launched more huge careers than anyone else so far drafted.

While you can always argue a demographic segment will never truly come around to him when you pair him in with one of "their guys" you get the completely electric One Night Stand against [undrafted and MITB against [undrafted] with the two most active crowds the WWE has had since it became known as the WWE.

The only person id consider taking over him in a career draft is Flair and i definitely dont think its obvious which is better either.

Try not to mention undrafteds.

ugggh I now know who I want, which means I have to sweat. I much prefer figuring out who to pick when I find out it is my pick so it's impossible for my pick to be 'taken from me', as 'my pick' doesn't exist.

Btw regarding his mic skills Cena has proven he can cut a good promo when he isnt phoning it in doing the goofy **** WWE creative writes for him. I dont even like his rapping **** and im long registered as not a fan of Cena at all (the character and how he is being used) but he is a clear top tier guy and the only thing worse than him dropping so low behind guys like HBK was that he didnt drop a couple slots lower so i could grab him

Now, back to my drawing board working out how i fill a giant Cena shaped hole in my plans.

Im taking the most versatile wrestler on the board. He excells at everything in the wrestling buisness, never causes backstage drama, has been at the top of his game for almost 17 years and is also an excellent worker with the mic and in the ring.

Very solid pick, the only knock on Y2J is that he was never the number one guy, you give him the chance to be that. Did you PM Phil?

Fwiw I agree with everything Phill said about Cena. His abilities paired with his personality makes him perfect for this draft.

I havent decided yet if Im going to give him the shot to be the #1 yet. Depends on the rest of my team.

Phil has been PM'd

Love Jericho... much bigger Jericho fan than Hart.

Thought briefly about going with Jericho with my pick but the fact that he's never been the #1 guy or face of the organization made him a bit too risky for me. I don't doubt that he's capable, though.

Outside of drawing power, Y2J is pretty much in the top 5 of every category that you would use to rate a wrestler. He's just so good at everything and could have a great fued with just about anyone.

so true. WCW's underutilization of the guy is truly mind-boggling.

Considering who i was going to draft this has to be a facemelter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzaJPPjLY40

Arguably the GOAT heel. 31 championship reigns including 11 world titles. He promised me he wont [undrafted] my federation.

Spoiler:
"He's here, he's here!" in 2008 was one of my favourite wrestling moments of all time. Here we have none other than Mr (soon to be) Hall of Famer Edge.

Pros:
Just ridiculously over, few guys worked a crowd quite like how Edge worked a crowd both as a heel but also a babyface at a few points in his career
Pure top tier mic work
Pure top tier ring work able to produce greatness with pretty much anybody
Bona fide all round wrestler who produced awesome matches under hardcore, hell in a cell, tag, TLC, ladder, and one fall singles matches with a huge variety of opponents and is the only man in history to be king of the ring, win the royal rumble and win the MITB.
He is also a lockerroom leader who was constantly relied upon and well liked to the point he banged the girlfriend of another wrestler and that other wrestler got fired for it (but who cares it was just [undrafted]).

Cons:
None!
Well, ok, he needs people to work with of course, but go look at his career and you will realise he has produced main event calibre quality programmes with just about everyone who has been in the WWE.
Some will bring up that he had a lot of really short world title reigns. They arent wrong, but his entire gimmick is perfectly adaptable to holding the title over a long time and i never got why they didnt realise having him cheat for a year straight rarely going over clean wouldnt be a money storyline, dude would have created volcanic heat.

The big question here will be does he draw. And to that question i answer "lol, of course". The dynamics of this pick will reverberate throughout my card as i cant have him hold the title and just squash fools but im confident that while there will be arguments over better picks as i can name at least five off hand people might say is better for a first round pick i know exactly what Edge can do and how i can use him to maximise my federation.

Next up is wesrwood, ill shoot him a PM but i think someone is texting him or summit, iono, whatever.

Way too early for Edge. I see at least five guys that are better than him.
