Highest rated AEW show (PPVs included) of the year on CageMatch and by a decent margin.

MJF was epic.

Double or Nothing is a bit concerning. Only 2 confirmed matches and neither has had much of a build.

I saw the clip on Twitter of John Morrison et al. debuting. Jim Ross referred to him as a "talented young man." Dude is 42. To his credit, he's never really gotten a catchphrase going.

Morrison can do physically impressive stuff, but is just kinda old and slower so it looks even more choreographed than usual.

Morrison's selling sometimes backfires, imo, but his selling of Joe's clothesline was very very cool looking, especially in conjunction with JR's call.

I could see it happening. I would be happy with either winning, and i can’t predict beyond 50/50. Double or Nothing is going to rule.

I’ve gotten my dad into AEW, which is amazing and hilarious. I was too young to remember, but he was reminiscing about stacks of VCRs to make copies of PPVs back in the day. Going to watch DoN at his place on the giant projector. I have to say, this timeline is pretty cool and I’m happy to be living it.

Edit: Dad loves Wardlow and Britt Baker the most. And Sting, obviously.

Okay, wow.

First of all, what a great ****ing show.

Second, WTF. When Ruby kicked out of Kris’s finisher we all knew. Just wtf. However, the silver lining is seeing just how over Stat is. Crowd was speaking our minds perfectly. I love her and hope she gets pushed to the moon.

Third, this Double Or Nothing card is ABSOLUTELY INSANE AND I’M SO EXCITED.

This card looks to be in a bit of jeopardy, especially for Wardlow's great moment:

As WrestlingNews.co reported earlier, security told fans at today’s Double Or Nothing Fan Fest that MJF was not answering his phone. Fans in attendance were offered a spot in a different wrestler line and some received refunds. PWInsider reports that the promotion was not able to get in contact with him. A fan on Twitter claimed that she saw him in the casino.

PWInsider added that there has been a feeling backstage that MJF and AEW are not on the same page and he has been keeping more to himself behind the scenes. MJF has stated publicly that his AEW contract runs out on January 1, 2024, and he plans on seeing what both companies offer him when his deal runs out. PWInsider reports that he has not been receptive to sitting down and talking and there’s been a feeling that he’s been disrespectful to Tony Khan.

In fact, MJF quote tweeted something that Khan said about blending reality and having things carry over on-screen. MJF tweeted and deleted this: “F**king lol. F**k this place man.”

In recent interviews, MJF said that he still keeps in contact with Cody Rhodes and has spoken with Paul Heyman via text. He has also stated that he is still friends with Bruce Prichard. They know each other from their days in MLW. MJF has also talked about being unhappy about the ex-WWE wrestlers coming in and making more money than him.

It’s no secret that MJF grew up a WWE fan and he’s had aspirations of working there and becoming a top star. Several years ago, he tried out for Tough Enough but was not selected for the show.

It appears that a lot, if not all, of what he’s been saying in the media in recent weeks is legitimate. MJF is scheduled to wrestle Wardlow tomorrow night at AEW Double Or Nothing.

The only sources within the company that would speak on the matter said that they were "very unhappy about how it all played out." One AEW source said they heard that communication between the two sides had reached an all-time low. Fightful reached out to both AEW and MJF, and only got a confirmation that MJF is fine physically, which is the first concern when something like this happens. However, we also learned that a flight for MJF out of Las Vegas across the country was booked for late Saturday night. Whether or not he gets on the plane remains to be seen. Neither side would confirm the reasoning for this when pressed. We have to reiterate, we're not sure if he's actually getting on the plane, but have confirmed a flight for him has been booked out of Vegas Saturday night.

MJF has remained frustrated with All Elite Wrestling over the last two months regarding his contract status and specifically pay scale. However, we're told that AEW has been willing to discuss a new contract with the star performer, who is scheduled to face Wardlow at Sunday's Double or Nothing PPV. We're told that in the weeks prior, MJF effectively blew off those overtures. Those we spoke to in AEW believed that MJF would be paid "top performer money" to sign an extension.

On MJFs side here, especially if the mid ex WWE guys are getting significantly more than him. Dude has been integral to many of AEWs biggest storylines. Losing him would be a much bigger blow to AEW than to MJF imo.

Tony has offered MJF higher pay but requires him to extend his deal which I think is fair. So def. not w/MJF on this. Sets a huge (bad) precedent to become hot during a contract and then demand more money and do nothing else for the company.

MJF is AEWs #1 most valuable asset looking forward.

The precedent wouldn’t apply to just anyone.

AEW cutting off their nose to spite their face here.
