I don't know if I would characterize them as "grinders" but good poker players are much less likely to get BBJ due to the fact that normally when one has AA or KK, one is more likely to make it to make it too expensive for opponents holding hole cards that could produce straight flush or holding QQ, JJ, TT to continue with the hand and see both hands qualify. Since the majority of deals that would produce a BBJ at the river never make it that far with two hands qualifying for BBJ, so no one ever even knew what they missed out on.
Do most "grinders" play for the promotions? I really don't know, and assumed most of them are going to play anyway because they are degens.
