My last two visits have had tables get down to 5 players when the players asked for a supervisor because they werent going to play with only five. One says "I'll have you filled in one minute" ( this was on the weekend) and he did. One has to wonder why we had three of the seats open for over a half an hour if he can basically walk up fron and have a full table set up in about 1 minute.
The other supervisor says "Just keep playing" about 3 times and assures us that she will get us some players. Ummm no how about we arent going to play until we have some players. Both dealers were very cool about and said "Guys Im not going to deal unless you want to" but the one supervisor had this attitude that we were going to simply because she said we had too. It was funny because when she said it there were five racks placed on the table instantly and we all started grabbing our chips.
Again we had three players in a matter of 1 minute even though 2-3 of the seats had been empty for 20-30 minutes.
I'm not sure but both of these scenarios appear to be cases of not looking at the system or it not working correctly. If nothing else when you see a popular level table getting low and their are no takers then start announcing you have openings.
As someone who is pretty well versed with how the Bravo system operates, there are a few reasons things like this happen:
First, players can be given instructions to go to a specific table, and since there aren't any seat buttons, they end up going wherever they see an open seat in a game they want.
Second, at a place like Hard Rock, where there are 50 (I think) tables, it becomes difficult to keep track of which tables have had players sent. That, combined with dealers not being used to logging players in (and often forgetting to log people in as Guests when they don't present a card), it can be a nightmare to keep things moving in a big room.
Ideally, players should *all* have cards, and should be logged into their table by the brush at the registration area. That way, they are "stuck" going to the table to which they were assigned, and the system is updates as soon as they are sent, as opposed to when they actually get there. Of course, that presents an entirely different issue, because tables will show as full, when people haven't ever taken their seats.
