You're right. The NL rooms (Tulalip, Muck) are THRIVING.

Muck is hurting by opening of Fortune and its never ending high hands. Fortune has went from averaging few NL tables most days to running 5 - 8 tables on Friday nights.

Tulalip is result of a never ending streak of bad management.

Caribbean is now mostly NL tables on most nights.

Here are some data in Vegas:

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...tatus+of+poker

https://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/...utumn-2017.php

https://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/...inter-2018.php

Autumn 2015: 8 limit tables on the strip, 96 NL tables.
Autumn 2017: 8 limit tables on the strip, 93 NL tables.
Winter 2018: 11 limit tables on the strip, 109 NL tables.

Sorry I was wrong, limit appears to be on the uptick and has grown by 37% since last year.

Oh sorry, it is also very clear that off-strip, limit is booming in the form of 2/4 limit.

Clearly limit is growing.../sarcasm.

It's definitely dying in Vegas but we live in the greater Seattle area and I think it's better to be proficient at LHE than NL out here. The trend is not really affecting the PNW.

You're basing that on what evidence?

Tulalip used to have several limit games on regular basis - zero now.

Caribbean was a limit only room and since its introduction of 1/3 NL, there are probably 2 to 3 games at most on a weekend night vs 5 - 6 NL games.

Fortune can barely keep up demand of NL games and I am guessing that if some of the players have more than few hundred dollars available to gamble, they wouldn't be playing 4/8 limit.

Dragon is spreading mostly spread and NL games.

List goes on and on. When NL is introduced in a room, limit players move toward it.

I kind of laughed a little bit.

How many rooms are spreading bigger than 4/8 limit in Seattle?

You are delusional, buddy.

Delusional is a stretch. I really only play at Palace and Fortune and even at the latter, it's clearly more beneficial to be a LHE player. I'm not speaking for low stakes regs, I'm speaking for myself.

I don't know why I'm arguing this with you. All I wanted to know was if anyone wanted to play $25/$50 HORSE.

If I live in Lakewood, I'll probably think it's better for me to be good at limit, too.

But for just about everyone else except in small pockets, NL is the future.

And FWIW, you brought up Tulalip and Muck, and that the trend of limit dying is not affecting PNW. I guess somehow implication of those comments were merely you speaking for yourself.

Cool dude. I actually don't care about any of that. I just want to start a HORSE game.

Cool dude, and I said that maybe you should ask whether anyone want to play in Lakewood first.

You're obviously everyone's spokesperson. Just tell me what to do.

My bad man, I was just having a little fun.

Fortune did try to spread mixed game and it didn't last long. Not sure you are going to have better luck starting it in Lakewood.

It shut down at Fortune because they didn't have clearance to spread draw games (I believe). There are people out there that definitely want to play mix games. I'm being realistic here - this game will only go when I organize it myself. Like... get a lineup of players and agree on a specific date and time to start. I don't expect it to be a regular thing that will happen organically.

14 live games with lists going at Palace in Lakewood now.

BOOMING.

Caped Crusader - Yes, I like being proficient in LHE vs NL since I live on the West Coast. There is a certain type of player that the West Coast is bountiful in that seems to enjoy gambling/drinking it up in LHE vs not saying a word for 6 hours in NL. I like playing with those players. Yes, the swings and beats are insane - but overall I prefer it. Given the West Coast's demographics, I don't see limit dying anytime soon.

Sidenote: next you go down to LA, avoid Commerce and play at Hawaiian Gardens. Looks great since its been redone, has 20-40/40-80, and everybody doesn't hate their life. I will never play at Commerce again as long as the Gardens has limit.

Visited Commerce once and did something really stupid - parked a distance away close to the power-lines in daylight. Talk about a sketchy spooky scared stiff walk back to the car after dark.

The game at The Bike was definitely better than Commerce. I will check our Gardens. Thanks!

Dockmonkey pretty much summed up what I love about LHE.

And DK, let's not be inviting 2+2ers to Lakewood. Let 'em stay wherever they are. Thanks!

I think to get a game going, 25/50 might be a little steep. FWIW, when Fortune did run the 15/30 mix game, I think that was the perfect limit to get people interested in the mix game. 25/50 might be a little steep to get the "casual" person into the game.

Now I don't know the Lakewood crowd, or what LH games they spread there, but even for a 20/40 reg to jump in a 25/50 mix is a huge jump. You need people to dab their toe, not jump straight in.

That being said, I would be interested, as long as it ran on the weekend.

I would play in the Horse game but could only really play on Saturday. Wouldnt have time to make it to Lakewood on weekdays or Sunday.

I agree. I wasn't pushing for this game. I was playing PLO with the poker room manager and HORSE came up and he said he would spread it for me, but then said it would have to be 25/50 which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I wouldn't mind playing smaller, but I think his whole concept is that he doesn't really want to spread a game that will pull from his existing player pool.

If you guys want to PM me your personal details I will keep you posted... try to lower the limit... and find a date we all want to play.

I'm basically treating this like a home game... with professional dealers and a $3 rake.

Just heard word that Muck is downsizing their poker room in favor of a steak house.

No limit hold'em though.

Speaking of the Muck, they have free comedy nites every Thurs at 8pm. This week the headliner is Alex Elkin, who is very funny and worth paying to see. I'll be there, probably on the south side of the stage. I'll wear my pink trucker hat.

Fortune has a new specials and drink menu. Stay tuned
