It seems like there aren't really any better options in the area (Seattle metropolitan)?
The tourney is full usually around 10:45 or sooner. But with Washington playing at noon in the Fiesta Bowl the count may be down. Not sure about this. The average number of normal buy-ins is something like 140 with rebuys offered through the first 4 rounds. Most players know each other so it is usually friendly and fun.

I miss the previous $100 range buyin Saturday Tulalip tournament and not only for the bigger payouts and longer potential time to play. My routine was to play the tournament then move over to cash games. The current structure does not attract cash-players but draws primarily low-buying nits and weekday tournament regs.

From my blog:

after this Tuesday the $30/$60 LHE game at Palace will be moving to Sundays. If you want on the list for tomorrow you can call (253) 581-5851 to reserve your seat for a 4 PM start or you can call Wednesday to put your name up for the Sunday game. I’m not sure what time they plan to start Sunday, but I should find out today. I have no idea if the game will go tomorrow, but I’m confident that the switch to Sundays will give it some real viability. I heard from numerous people at Fortune that they would be willing to come play on Sundays when they don’t have to work or fight through peak traffic times to get to Palace.

What are the blinds in the 30/60 at Palace? (please be 20-30, please be 20-30...)

I would much rather pay 3+3 in Washington than 5+0 in Las Vegas. If it were still 4+0 I'd consider it a wash.
Games in Vegas are so insanely nitty though. It may be 5+0 but your typical 2/5 game in vegas less than 33% of hands even see a flop lol. Nit city with the smallest pots in the country.

15-30

5-15 in the 15/30. :/

I will work on getting them changed in the latter. Is 20-30 standard at 30/60?

Standard would be to play 30/60 with $10 chips and have the SB be $20, 15/30 with $5 chips and a SB of $10

Palace doesn't have $10 chips. I played with $5s and $25s. It's amusing how many people abhor $25 chips in red chip games.

I knew $10 small was standard at $15/$30, but wasn't sure what it is at $30/$60. I played once at Ameristar in Colorado but can't remember the blind structure.

We agree. Nothing like it was during the poker boom of 10 years ago. Lots of local tight nits dominate the tables was my most recent experience too.

Its incredible. Ive made a winter pilgrimage from the pacific northwest down to Vegas for 6 years in a row now, staying anywhere from 1 month to 4 months. The low rake, free drinks, comps, and nice weather being the motivators. Last year, the 5th year, was the first time i found the games to be officially terrible. This year i wasnt going to come, but family wanted to meet here for a bit so i came. The games here have gotten worse every year. If you have a 20% vpip in Vegas, you will be the loosest player at most 2/5 tables. I cant wait to leave and go to some california locations where i can play some real poker again. The crazy thing is that basically any random city out there has games with way bigger sction than Vegas now.

Palace is moving the $30/$60 LHE game to Sundays at 11 AM, starting this upcoming Sunday. You need to call ahead and put your name on the list if you want to start the game: (253) 581-5851

NL Holdem, should’ve said that before... 5/5 at commerce or 2/3 at bike?

On a positive note, the rake is 3+2, and a straddle doesnt count as a raise towards the cap. Fortune should adjust that imo.

I was under the impression their hands were legally tied with the straddle counting as a raise at Fortune, but I guess not? It'd be great if they changed it.

I assumed that as well, but Red Dragon is the same way.

My understanding is that the rules are not universal within Washington and that each casino has its own gaming commission representative, and each representative could approve his/her own rule(s).

Straddle not counting as a raise and button straddle are two rules that are varies from casino to casino.

Button straddle at Palace allows for 5 bets pre.

Made the road-trip to Fortune and came away with these first impressions.

Positives: Competent and professional staff & dealers; Ample space in the poker room; Many visible big screens on multiple channels; Great lighting; Close yet separate bar and restaurant; Comfortable seats and large poker tables; Cleanliness

Negatives: Insufficient parking space; Tiny restroom (only 1 porcelain throne)

I did not eat but the food looked great and the portions large.

Very well summed up imo.

There are two restrooms at Fortune, but they are both small.

Once you've been a couple times you learn you can park at the hotel, which sucks when its raining.
