Just came back from Seabrook. I got there at 3 just as the only 1/2 game was getting started. I think we were 8 handed for awhile, then the game filled up by 4.
There were a couple of guys who wanted to play 2/4, and that game opened up about 4:30. From what I was hearing, 2/4 plays very big. Thousands of dollars were changing hands on the first night.
I left at 6:15, and I was surprised that there was only 1 1/2 game and 1 2/4 game going. No surprise that there wasn't any limit games.
That said, the action was pretty good at 1/2. Preflop raises were generally a little small. A little more limping than usual. Lots of hands went to the river. Pretty typical 1/2 shenanigans.
The chip denominations are funny. They use $4 orange chips and $20 blue chips, in addition to the $1 chips. Everyone thinks of 5s and 25s, so counting out bets takes a little getting used to, even for dealers.
I could see the room getting very busy on weekends. I think everyone is happy with the new game, players and dealers alike. I for one am not gonna play many tournaments anymore, and am very happy to drive 50 minutes instead of 2+ hours for my fix. Oh, btw, I usually go to Seabrook about every 6 weeks. That will probably change
