They killed it and the multiple Day One's with lower buy-in has a FL tournament flavor to it. $180+ prize pool for a $50k guarantee is sick! It was filled with 1/2 players and regs from the weekly Wed $120 rather than pricing out all of those runners.

She is doing a great job with this room since taking over between this event and the HH promo that is adding more cash games there while all the Foxwoods regs migrate to Twin River.

The promos that was announced vary based on day of week. I would imagine that the January Fri/Sat 3pm-3am $500 HH every 30 minutes would begin today since it is January.

$500 every 30 minutes running now.

2-5 is now $500 Max buy in but they have a 2-5 table Max running as well.

Yes, it certainly plays differently. I played it Saturday there were 4 $500 max games running and 2 Table Max. There were very few regs in those 4 games as they were hunting the gambling rec player in the Table Max game (one of them was playing like an Action 5/10 game) and the shorter stacks result in less pot control and more stack shipping. Much more action and more gambling around me than a typical $800 max game for sure. Less monster pots but many more $400-700 pots as shorter stacks were looking to get it in.

It's kind of funny how the outrage from the regs over the buyin change has been largely defused by Twin River opening - the $200-$1000 5/10 over there seems to be pretty popular with a lot of now ex-Mohegan regs (especially the ones that live in Mass) that some initial attempts at a petition/protest actually ended up fizzling out pretty quickly.

i don't think the attempts at a petition/protest fizzled. they collected close to 200 signatures on a petition and submitted it. that's not fizzling. the idea behind the petition was never to guarantee the game stays at $800, but more to have a record of the unpopularity of the change.

They may as well have had 20,000 to think that there was really 200 legitimate upset customers with the change. Whenever a 2/5 player was called to the game they were approached with a petition that they could sign or could decline to sign while standing in front of 30 players watching them wondering what would occur if they declined while all they want to do is take their seat and play. So they signed and took their seat. If there was such an outrage then there wouldn't have been 4 500max games running in addition to the 2 table max the first weekend of the change. Why wouldn't a rec player want to sit with a table full of regs in a big stack 2/5 game? Lol.

It didn't help add credibility that the ringleader had only played the room fully reg for a few months while having left for Twin River while the max was still 800.

When did this petition signing thing happen? I never heard anyone taking about it. Usually everyone talks about everything in that room.

good points, rhodyguy. i hope the change works out for the room in the long run. i actually didn't sign the petition, although, it was assumed several times that i did. i, personally, don't care if the buy-in is $500 or $800. i just hope the quality of the game improves!

Lower buy-in caps encourages shovefests and dumbs the game down. Hopefully the management monitor the changes post rule change and choose how they want their room to be.

Well this room has pretty much had the same amount or more of 1-2, 2-4, and 2-5 games weekend nights as FW. So I think they are getting something right.
