I would imagine good Friday would have a negative effect if any. Folks are not off work for that are they?

Microphones not working, so hot seats are drawn with no fanfare. Pretty sure my likelihood of winning goes down when they do it this way.

What time did you get there on Friday?

Come in from where the outlets are to get to the road that circles the casino. Enter at first self park garage entrance which will put you on level 4. Upon entering, you'll see the ramp on the right to go up levels. Make two quick right turns (as if you were leaving the same way you just entered) but instead of exiting make a left up the ramp. Go up 2 floors to level 6.

During "normal" times, it's very light up there and many spaces available close to the door. Even during events (I did this Sat night), still many spots available without getting lost or driving around. Exit the same way... down the ramps to level 4, take a left and your out.

Apologies for this. Its very frustrating to everyone (both players and staff). This is a recurring issue that we are trying to fix. We are looking at multiple solutions to the problem...

Reg. Opens at 10AM on the day of the event for both.

Just finished an 8 day marathon. A superbly run room all around.

Highlights:

- Dealers nearly all good to great, an excellent crew.

- Floor might be even better. They do a great job of keeping a positive vibe going. Lots of them really give the impression that they enjoy their job, which is so key in maintaining the room culture. The whole time I never noticed who the floor supervisor was, as everything was so smooth and seamless they never stood out.

- Saturday night in particular the room was crushing it. Empty seats filled nearly instantaneously, every time. Food service was all over the room and was super fast.

- Food variety and quality is excellent.

- Cage excellent as well. Wait times were very short every time, cage pleasant and no errors.

The Mostly Minor Lowlights:

- Microphone issues as mentioned.

- One hour wait for one particular high hand payout which frustrated those ready to leave.

- You're not getting much mileage out of the faces full promo. The payout tiers make it unnecessarily hard to understand. Doesn't generate much/any excitement like high hands and hot seats.

- Beverage service spotty like every poker room ever. It was solid at times and sometimes people would wait really long for their drink to be delivered and other times no waitress in room for a long stretch. Maintenance on the coffee/tea self serve station was poor a few times. The fact that it is even available is a huge plus, obviously.

- Same with food. When the room was super busy, food service was mostly up to the challenge really really well. It's obvious that the room is making a serious effort to come through on food. During some of the "slower" times, I saw occasional substandard service with really long waits to order, long waits for food to arrive and food on the cold side.

- One dealer really struggled. So impressive that it was only one over 70+ hours.

- One dealer did the 'ol loud "thanks for the tip, I really appreciate the tip" to drop the not subtle hint that the prior hand he wasn't tipped. I've seen him give the sarcastic thank you when he thought a tip was insufficient at his prior area gig, so wasn't surprised. I hate that crap. He's got a constant chip on his shoulder. Would fit in great with the PBKC dealers, but stands out here.

- Restrooms - Signs denoting which restroom is which are bad. One set in the hall on the restaurant side is lolbad in particular. I'd guess at least 1 in 5 guys gets part way into the women's before they realize their error. Lots of non-working faucets and soap dispensers everywhere.

- Parking garage labeling is comically bad. So many people unnecessarily lost. I tried to help a few find their car. Nearly every other way you could possibly conceive of labeling would be better. Also, whoever programmed the spot counting system pulled a fast one on his resume to get that gig, book it.

Overall... my new favorite room. Great job!!!

Oh, didn't mention all the other little details and notes. All this stuff is good to great:
chairs
elbow room
ambient noise
unobtrusive microphone (lol when working)
the "action"
colors, aesthetics, etc
lots of other little things we take for granted unless it's substandard

I should probably add that seat winners are also given a complimentary hotel room at Borgata as part of the package.... maybe a bit more incentive to give these sattys a shot! Shout out to Vinnie, Tab, and the team at Borgata for throwing us that bone!

When I left at 5:15 pm yesterday my truck was fenced off on level 3. There was a security guard standing nearby, who told me "lucky that you didn't park on level 5". She then showed me a picture of a truck with damage due to falling concrete.

She said that the the damage was directly above where I parked, therefore no one else was being allowed to park in that area, which was at the end overlooking the water.

Has anyone heard anything regarding on going safety measures?

No but I would really like to know if there is follow up to this - I always park on the end overlooking the water, usually on 3 or 4. Would like to hear if there's an issue somewhere.

FWIW I love that MGMNH is supporting Borgata like this but then you have to drive to Borgata lol. Would hope for MGMNH to have their own huge series in the future.

Hey JohnnyGrooms!

I've got an interesting story for you, something that occurred a few hours ago in your poker room. This was related to me in a phone call I received from my brother at 12:30 this morning.

He showed up a little after 4 pm yesterday (Saturday) and saw you. He told me that he was "blown away" that you remembered his name since you had only met one time several weeks ago. To help you place who my brother is, his name is John and during his chat with you he told you about our mother's passing last month.

My brother got seated at a 1/3 table around 5 pm and I don't know if he ever changed tables, but he was sitting in seat 2 at table 4 (right behind the check-in podium) at midnight when two floor personnel approached him. One was Patrick and he didn't know the other guy's name.

They asked to speak with him and told him he was going to have to leave because they had reports that he had made repeated cruel and taunting remarks to a player with one arm. He was told that "three dealers" had reported this. My brother asked who they were talking about and they said it was the guy in seat 8. John wasn't even aware the guy was missing an arm and he hadn't said anything to him or anyone else about it. But he was aware that this particular guy had just joined the table recently and hadn't even been there for an entire down, which makes the reports of "three dealers" seem suspicious.

John asked for you and was told you were gone. At first he thought that maybe this was a gag you were pulling on him. When he realized they were serous, he told them to check the Bravo and the cameras and they would see that he hadn't even played with this guy that long and had no interaction with him.

My brother is a very friendly guy and livens up any poker table. I've had many players tell me how much they enjoy playing with him and I've seen it myself. When John is at the table, people are having fun. I've never known him to say or do anything remotely like what he was accused of, but he was escorted to the cage and then off the premises. Anyone who knows my brother knows that this accusation has to be in error.

I know your people are within their rights to take this action, but it feels so un-American to not have any recourse and not be able to face one's accuser. If the other players at the table had been asked, they would have come to my brother's defense, but they didn't know what was going on.

John wants to discuss this with you and find out how this could happen. Was it a case of mistaken identity?

So out of curiosity, does John drink alcohol while he plays poker?

I've seen a lot of inappropriate and bad behavior at MGMNH, and every time it is handled with at least a warning, if not two, before someone is asked to leave and escorted out. Think about it, you're only getting your brother's side of the story.
