Thanks!
But please not before the Stud or "Mixed Game Including Stud Variants" appreciation week I know you're eager to do, right, Mike? Or more generally how about "Limit Poker Other Than 4-8 Holdem" appreciation week?

I was told you could only place promo chips on even money bets. So how could you play green? Did i get some bad information?

So Saturday's purple chip or Sunday's double black chip bounty? You (I) only get one choice.

I am thinking Sunday.....$100k vs $60k for half the buyin and virtually the same structure.

They're talking about free slot play, not promo chips. You're correct about promo chips though.

First timer at venue

Played in the $300 Seniors event yesterday .. 130 runners .. and overall, the card room is excellent.

The standard of play at my tourny table, was IMHO, v weak .. but, went out on level 7, in a 3 way pot, when had nuts, and player 2 caught a 4 outer on river. Cant magine what 3rd player had. Would have loved to play deeper etc .. maybe skill level would have improved.

Played cash after, only small, and the rake does eat u up, but, lotsa passive players, and looks beatable.

Dealers are first class .. chips are good .. free coffee/soft drinks, but, menu is poor/expensive, and food service could be faster.

The mall opposite .. literally, 50 yards away, has good selection of food outlets, till 11pm.

The lines for food on Sat, is long .. 30 mins for a burger, but, this eases on Sun, and is fine today (Mon).

I liked Bobbys Burger - but, once again $8 for a burger, isnt the cheapest.

Cheesecake factory has huge choice, but, also, $8 for a slice, is pushing it.

Am staying at nearby hotel $95 a night, and its a 12 mn walk, or a shuttle runs. The pavements have been slippy, with snow, so, only been walking during daytime, and its a pleasant walk -- no real hills.

Am getting $15 free play slots a day, and had sign-up bonus of $25.

Am v impressed by table etiquette .. a lot of well played Sir/Maam, and bad beats, dont really get berated. The nearby Omaha guys, are a bit louder, but, thats just the game.

V impressed with overall card room layout/managers etc. A pleasure to play.

Hotel just gives me vouchers .. and the desk adds them to my players card.

I went on Sunday morning to claim my $100 streak bonus. I went to the rewards desk to ask if I could get promotional chips instead of slot play since I don't play slots and was denied. I was glad I was denied, because I put it in the video poker machine at the center bar playing 50 cent credits and hit quad kinds to pay out $200. I walked away from the machine with $295!

The aloft .. Oddly, the players card says u can get discount at the hotels, but, the online rate thru the hitel website, seems cheaper ?

Hotel not so busy.

Played some $1/2 today, 2 hands (sorry haven't hand history thingy)

AK big blind .. My stack $140. Raise in mid, to $15, 3 callers.

I shove.

Called by 8 7 suited. .he hits an 8.

Rebuy.

A while later, flop Ah Qd 9h .. I got Jh 10h in big blind again. Flat called by 2 spots pre.

Good reg, UTG raises to $10, fold, I raise to $35.

He shoves. I call, and miss.

I just got back yesterday from Maryland Live to Virginia.

Seen a lot of hotel questions ITT. Recommend staying at the Red Roof Plus, it's about $60 a night after taxes and it's a couple miles from the casino. Not sure if it has a shuttle to and from though. Don't know if this has already been posted, just thought I'd help people out.

Love the cardroom! I go roughly 2-3 times a month from Norfolk.

The wifi has not been working properly in the poker room for a couple of days. This really needs to be addressed asap. Some mid/high limit players including myself are considering moving the 10/25nl game to horseshoe if this is not fixed.

Yeah, the wifi was different and very bad today. Instead of "Live!Poker", it was "Marylandlive!wifi", and I had to log into it, giving my email and players card #. No big deal, but different, so hopefully someone is working on improvements.

I don't play the limits your talking about Tin, but I would imagine that if I did, the quality of the dealers would be more important than the quality of the wifi. Just sayin'

Some recreational players like to send emails and conduct business while playing so wifi is extremely important. Having to login was not the issue. Logging in and then having the wifi still not work is.

I would hope anyone who is in the position of having to conduct business from their phone while recreationally playing poker would have a data plan on their phone and not need to rely on the casino's wifi.

Just remember that the cell service inside the casino is not very good. So having a good wifi signal helps out and provides a more enjoyable environment.

I have AT&T; I get no service whatsoever on the casino floor, but perfect signal in the poker room

Aloha everyone,

A bit of change of subject: what is the level of second-hand smoke in the poker area?

If one casino offers working wifi, better food options and lower rake for high limit games it's going to make it very tempting to switch.

I am sure they would more than reserve a table for 10-25 at HS. No more competing for a table with 10-10 PLO.

Thank you Jeffage. Ive always disliked smoke in "smokefree" rooms. It makes a big difference in how I feel after sessions. Is it like this is other poker rooms in the area?
