Bad beats left and right. The mini hit at about 4 this morning upstairs. AAAQQ over AAAJJ.

Mike -

I noticed on bravo recently that the size of the BBJ is no longer being displayed. Any reason for that ? Thought it was nice to be able to see where it was any time you wanted to.

With all the action here, how come 5/10nl isn't more popular? There will be up to 15 2/5 games going, but only 2 5/10s. Seems strange.

Mike,

Any chance you could get some hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the room? I've heard several people ask about this and it would be a cheap way to at least make players feel cleaner as we get into flu season.

The Borgata poker room has hand sanitizer dispensers mounted all over the room and we could use them here too. However, I've seen so many players over the weekend eating their finger food at the table using the same hands that they touch the poker chips. These guys could definitely use some hand sanitizer.

For regular card holding players, an email went out last week with suggestions for improvements on the poker room that goes directly to Maryland Live. I'm sure hand sanitizing stations will be coming soon. I've heard so many people discussing a need for them.

We actually have them and are awaiting the bags with the sanitizer fluid

Thanks

From the casino's perspective, cash tables are more profitable. The casino wants to have tournaments too, but there are only so many tables available. Having a structure that "ensures" many re-entries is how the casino balances these competing demands. You want a tournament with a good guarantee, the house needs to dedicate as few tables to the tournament as it can.

Par for the course. These guys typically aren't the ones who utilize the hand sanitizer even if available.
Which is even more reason why the rest of us need it in defense.

You should or at least give a link containing information about it. I don't think the rep himself is allowed to use the thread as a promotion tool.

I'm at the Maryland Live poker room once or twice a week, always during the day. I don't eat at the poker table and don't like it when others do it. I like to take a short break from the game and I walk over to the Arundel Mills food court which is right across from the casino exit near the Cheesecake Factory. They have a large variety of food options.

I think if a customer hears of a promotion, I don't think it's out of line to post it in here for group knowledge. Otherwise, what are we doing in here?

I guess it would be great if there was a poker promotion webpage that we can periodically check out. There's a suggestion for Mike.

Well I heard that starting in December:

Flop a Royal and get 10K, 1K to everyone at the table.

Flop a str8 flush= 1K, 100 to other players.

Flop quads= 500, 50 to others.

Will that be for all cash games?

I'm with you here. I made it from the poker room, to Moe's and back in <30min. It'd be nice if the room offered a dinner list though or playover.

Does that mean specifically on the flop or are you just using flop to mean make? I think specifically flopping a royal might be harder than the bad beat.

There ain't much in the BBJ so where's the 10K coming from to pay for the Royal? Also, what if you didn't flop but get to the Royal in the river does that count as flopped the Royal? If you do hit the Royal and bet out your oppenent(s) meaning no callers do you still get the 10K? What's the required pot size to qualify for the Royal payout? Does the promotions only applied to 1/2 and 2/5?

Players discussing their promotions is fine.

Exactly.

Sorry if I caused confusion with my post earlier, or stymied conversation - that really wasn't my intent. What we're trying to avoid is having our non-advertising reps use the forums as a vehicle to advertise their promotions, or others doing so on their behalf. And I'm not suggesting that's what's been happening thus far; from what I've seen, I think Mike's been respectful of our rules. I only came in here because someone referred me to a post that was somewhat borderline, and I wanted to nip things in the bud.

It's only $500 tables share for the Royals

From the $1 we take for the jackpot, 25% goes to the Mega and 75% goes to the Reserve. The money to fund this comes from the Reserve.

This Jackpot ONLY applies to hands that are flopped and there is no pot minimum nor does the hand have to be played to it's conclusion, although I would try and win as much as I could.

If you make a Royal on the River, the Royal Flush Jackpot still applies and you'll win $500.

I hope it's OK to respond to these

Thanks

Mike

You'd think I could get the promotions on our webpage

Mike mentioned that 75% of the BBJ money goes into reserve. I did a rough calculation and conservatively estimate that the room has collected at least $800K+ in BBJ money since they opened. Even considering the bad beats and royal flushes paid out so far, there should still be ALOT of money left in the reserve to fund the aforementioned promotions.

I was in Columbia for work on Saturday and managed to stop in for a few minutes during the afternoon and look around. The 4-8 list was too long for me to bother playing, but I thought that the entire casino layout was excellent.

I am looking forward to playing on a trip to the area where I have more than 90 minutes free. This time I just got my players card and ran some credits on $1 video roulette so I get their mailings.

Mike,

I also just heard that these flopped hands only qualify Sunday through Thursday. Is this true?

If so, are we talking midnight to midnight as a specific day?
