it is a timed rake at the higher games... so big fail.

And this has to do with what? Give the timed-rake games this option, and you'll see all players with a few redbirds in their stacks. Won't happen anyway, so what's the difference.

All pleas for edible food at reasonable prices have gone unanswered, zaxx. Save your breath for running in and out of the McDonald's down the street.

You ask too much. Be happy if your sock isn't filled with coal, like mine will be.

Come on, you might think your posts are funny but it's getting old. I have talked to people that have stopped reading this thread just because of your posts. Your welcome to your comments but most feel your not actually contributing to the thread.... There are no hotdogs coming anytime soon....

There will be other food options coming though in the next couple of months.

Yes if we knew it would not conflict with opening a high limit game. Not the back room though.

We talked about putting most of the cash games upstairs and all the tournament tables downstairs. But the tournament tables will eventually break down so we will open tables upstairs if needed. We'll have to take it one tournament at a time to see how many tables we will use.

I am interested to see what the turnout will be for the first tournament at noon on the 23rd. We haven't advertised it very long and it is close to Chrsitmas.

Any tournament with a 25% rake is bad for the players and the house because not only is the tourney unbeatable it takes money out of the poker economy too fast and eliminates the chance to maintain a game/room for the longterm. Coconuts is an as s but he is right....

Its 20% of $100 or $200, the impact is not huge enough to take money out of the poker economy. The casino needs to make money too. I mean, what kind of player does a $200 tourney attract? I doubt most players are taking the rake into consideration enough to dry up the game.

I think the Sunday tournament is perfect, I hope it takes off like the old Majestic Sunday Tournaments. If anyone recalls, Majestic used to run a tournament on Sundays several years ago, they would run the tourney with 150 and there would still be a line 30 - 50 deep of people that were not able to get in.

Wow! I never imagined I'd be the topic of conversation, and I'm flattered, thank you. You've actually "talked to people that have stopped reading this thread" because of my posts? Really? I find that so strange, but I know you wouldn't b.s. a customer, and I respect you for that. I'll miss them.

I understand the hotdogs not coming soon. They're nowhere to be found here in this area, and to ship them in from the midwest would probably cost a fortune.

Your stated assumption for the house not allowing a hand to be run twice is that they house doesn't want to lower their rake.

Their rake is time based so this obviously isn't the case, as the house makes the same amount whether they run 30 hands/hr or 5.

What doesn't change, however, is your EV when you run it twice, so you are basically costing other people money haggling over something that doesn't matter at all.

Also, you are a huge drag on this thread.

I scored my first straight flush bonus tonight. $200 really helped since the table i sat at was so tight. Now to get back the other 10k the tables have raked off me lol.

Santa, please reconsider stopping at Horseshoe for x-mas they do need this gift for
there 2/5 nl game. This gift would reward players that have been playing the longest
on that day!

Unfortunately, I think the 20% rake is in line with what you find in most live tournaments with this kind of buy-ins (e.g., Commerce, Las Vegas strip poker rooms etc.).

For that rake, however, I am hoping that there will be a really good structure -- and I don't consider the Majestic tournaments to have had good structures.

I'm interested in playing 20/40 or 10/20 limit during the week. On an average Monday morning/early afternoon, what time should I arrive to get a seat? I'd like to get there before the waitlist forms, but I don't want to get there so early that there's no game yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just to clarify...

The Sunday tourneys will have a 20$ VIG attached or a 20% vig attached........equivalent to 40$ dollars total.

200 broken down to 160+40vig would be rough for me to swallow in all honesty.

Id still probably play for the live tourney experience and just as a nice change of pace but I certainly wouldnt leave a good cash game for a tourney with excessive vig like that.

Not B*tching just giving a realistic appraisal from a semi regular player in the scene.

Jeremy

How many straight flushes and royal flushes have been paid out since the beginning of this promo? I was at a table where someone hit a Royal Flush and I received $100.. Every little bit helps!

Ask the higher limit players if they would prefer the option to run it twice, at a nominal fee that benefits everyone, and in spite of it "basically costing other people money." You and I can make a big bet on the polls results.

As far as me being a drag on this thread, there are several, and here's what I do about it: I keep a list of those names, and when I see their name on the post,....(are you ready)....I DON'T READ IT. Simple when you think about it, don't ya think?

No need to respond for my sake; I just put your name on my list. Stay well.

If the 20-40 isn't going from the day before it usually starts around 1pm on Mondays. 10-20 usually doesn't start until 5-6pm

Have you won (not played) more than 200 hands there? Just wondering how many people are still in the negative EV even AFTER winning one of the promos.
