They used to spread a 5/10 O8 game a decent amount in the past, that's probably the best bet...

If I thought there was a better than 50/50 shot to play O8 tomorrow, I'll make the drive over to the shoe...
ZSmarty, that 5/10 game, was that with a kill?

I heard that no matter what no limit game you played all you earned was $1 an hour here.. is that the case.... Do you earn tier credits for your poker play

Hey all, a friend wanted me to post and ask where the best places to stay are? He'll be in town Saturday for sure and was thinking about staying Sunday and possibly Monday. Looking for a place that's close and relatively cheap. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Here are links for the three closest motels. All three are in the same area and a five minute ride to the Shoe. There are four or five places to eat close by. The Ramada has special rates for Horseshoe customers. You can call the poker room 219-473-6065 for more information.

The Shoe simply has no room for a hotel.

That's not neccesarily true. At one time there were rumors to buy Phil Schmidt's and put the hotel there. I would think that once Harrahs has their debt in order and the economy picks up there will be a hotel. Just my 2 cents.

What is Phil Schmidts?
Is it worth any interest/? Like a nice seafood place, or a boat rental maybe?

Phil Smidt's was a seafood restaurant not far from the shoe. It was a southside institution for fried perch and frog legs. Sadly they went out of business some time back

The Phil Schmidts property might be big enough for a hotel but you need parking also and there is just not enough room there. A better idea would be to put the hotel and a new parking garage structure back in the employee parking lot. Either way there would have to be shuttle service back and forth.

If a hotel was built close by they would have a skywalk connected to the casino.

Use a search engine and you will discover, Harrah's Hammond may be the most profitable joint in Harrah's operations. There is no hotel, because the place is TWO CITY BLOCKS, outside Chicago's city limit. The place is almost inside Chicago, and the primary customer base, sleeps at home. Not to mention, a couple million people, who live nearby in NW Indiana and Michigan.

I'm sure that's not the reason there's no hotel, there's millions of people nearby EVERY casino and I'm constantly hearing from people in the Chicagoland area talk about how they wish there was a hotel there. It's obviously must be more of a real estate issue.

I agree with Magoo. Every weekend the Shoe is packed. It would be nice to have a hotel but wouldn’t make much difference with their bottom line.
