A friend just phoned at the break, 110k about 130 off the bubble.

Does anyone know if they shut down the cash games or if not how many 1/3NL or 3/6 limit games where going on during the tourney yesterday? Im thinking about going down this morning but wanna make sure the games are running before I go.

Cash was running when I was knocked out around 6:30pm. There were several 1/3 going (maybe 6-7) along with some other games. And the 1/3 list was only about 7 names.

I played in Event 1. Made it to Level 14 and went out with about 275 of 880 remaining.

Also, and FYI to all: there is a separate thread about the WPT events in the Tournament Circuit section.

The cash game action has really picked up with the WPT going on. Last night as of 1 am there was one 5/10 NL, two 1/3/5 PLO's and three 2/5 NL's a ton of 1/3 NL. There was probably 50k on the table at the 5/10 NL.

Nice. Im sure i'll be down sometime this week for cash games depending on how well I do in them I may play a WPT event or 2. Really leaning towards playing the O8/Stud8 mix tourney next monday.

If anyone has cashed in any of the WPT events so far, which one and how well did you do and any sick beats along the way.

Yeah, I was there playing 2/5 and the action was great, though there wasn't as much money on the table as I would have liked (av. stack was probably ~$550). One guy sat down with that "I've-never-played-casino-poker" look in his eyes and asked in good faith if we were "playing against the dealer." (I thought he was joking until I watched him play a couple of hands--he most definitely was not joking) If I didn't have to drive that night for my sleeping accomodations, I would have moved to 1/3/5 PLO, which looked like it was running extremely deep.

I played the $340 tourney the next day and was actually pretty impressed by the field. I busted in the 90s after getting it all-in with AKs with 13 bbs against A4s (7 BBs) and ending up splitting the pot, then getting it all-in preflop with AdAc against Kd3d (trying to bluff me off a early position limp) and losing to a flush (only egregiously bad play I saw in five hours--naturally I was the victim), then losing with A9o and 3 BBs against AQ. Definitely wish I hadn't run so terribly, but it was fun.

I posted this in the tournament circuit forum but we were on the bubble and a woman was all in with AA vs. A6 and lose to runner runner straight. Her husband made up for it as I think he chopped 3 ways.

Are there any promotions that the card room runs every single month? I checked online and there are no promotions running for the current month. However, when I last played in house--I noticed an ad on one of the TVs mentioning that any player who puts in 30 hours in any month will be entered into a 5k freeroll? Is this true or were my eyes deceiving me? That got me thinking that there may be some other unspoken promotions going on regularly--that I would like to earn. Also, if the 5k freeroll is real...does anyone know who you need to speak to in order to register for it (either before or after you have put in 30 hours)? Thanks so much for the help guys.

The only time I qualified for the freeroll, they mailed me a letter.

I understand thevoucher program will continue oafter this WPT Event but I have not confirmed that with anyone so consider it gossip at the moment.

They always have some kind of promotion going on every month, this month is the exception to that rule because of the WPT but I'm sure they'll have something for April.

Here's how the free roll works. Everyone who logs at least 30 hours in a given month automatically qualifies for the next month’s freeroll. If you qualify for it you should get a letter in the mail. They also have lists at the front desk of who qualified so you can check there if you’re in the room. The tournament is always on the third Tuesday of the month at 9 am. This is a source of personal annoyance to me as I’ve easily qualified for every single one since its inception but have yet to actually play in one because I’m always at work at 9 am on Tuesdays. Anyway, the tournament’s pretty much a crap shoot, you get 1k chips in chips if you have 30-49 hours and 2k chips if you have 50+ hours. Blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 15 minutes. Personally I’d rather they just have a random drawing if they want to give away 5k.

Definitely seems like a crapshoot. Is it a winner take all?

I don't think so, I believe they pay the top 10% like they normally do for other tournaments. Like I said I've never actually played in one so I can't say for sure.

Does Hollywood offer player safety deposit boxes for people who bring larger sums of cash to play with. I certainly dont bring enough to warrant this--but do any regulars get an option to buy a box to keep their cash/chips/bankroll in? If so, what steps do people have to take in order to get one?

Thanks in advance

I was down there for a little while tonight. They had a 2-10 NL game going. WTF kind of blinds is that?
Hollywood Casino (Lawrenceburg, IN) Quote

2-10 NL I believe that would be 2-5 no limit with a mandatory 10 straddle. Or could be 2-5-10 blinds in which a straddle would be 20.

Not as big as I expected. It seems like very few of the main event players played cash games after the main event wrapped up for the day. They got a 5/10 NL going for a few hours but it never really filled up. There was an interest list for 10/25 NL with 4 or 5 names on it but it never got going. I played the usual 1/3/5 PLO but it was the same crowd as always. Gavin Smith walked by and checked it out but he never sat down.

I would like to go and sweat the final table but I can not. I have a funeral to attend this afternoon, writing and offer on a house this evening and it is cigar night.
